Love your low arc pull-out faucet?

I love the look of the high arc faucets but have decided a low arc one is more practical for us.

I have looked at so many faucets, in person & on line, that my head is spinning.

Does anyone have a low arc pull out that they love? If so, please tell me all about it!

Ours is kind of in between. It is a pull out with a low arc but the faucet head is as high as the arc. We love it! It is the Kohler Elate.

We just replaced our kitchen faucet about two weeks ago. I think we bought about 7 faucets from Home Depot and Lowes. Seeing them up on the wall was deceiving in some cases.

The first one we picked had the low side style handle. I couldn't reach it without bending down and over (causing back strain). So back it went.

Then we selected two models with the top handles. The faucet head was so low we wouldn't have been able to wash a water melon or fill our dog water dish without lowering it into the sink (causing back strain). With our older faucet we could balance them on the center of the two sinks. Back they went.

Then we tried the high arc faucet. It took up the entire sink. Was monstrously large and was an eye sore. Back it went.

I then bought three more faucets. The first one was a top handle but not as low of a faucet head. I thought we had a winner but then checked the on-line reviews. Horrible reviews.

Next we put the Kohler Elate in the sink hole. It looked good. We could mount it with the side handle at the front so it could be operated with either hand. I checked the reviews and everyone seemed to love it. We installed it and are amazed at the high power of the spray. It is easy to operate with either hand and has a high water spout but does not intrude into the space around the sink in an obnoxious way. If you decide on that one the instructions step you through flushing the lines during the installation. Lots of black water came out during the flush so well worth doing. Don't skip that step and clog up the internal filters. We paid $158 from Lowes as it was on sale.

The seventh one went back to the store unopened.

The Kohler Elate has buttons underneath for pause, stream and spray. The spray is so powerful you have to watch how high you turn the water on otherwise it bounces off whatever it hits with great force. However, it is great for washing out the sink.

Here is a pic of the faucet. We put the faucet so the cold is on when the handle is to the right and the hot when the handle is to the left. I think when it is installed with the handle on the side the cold was forward and the hot backward so we had to reverse the water connections from what was intended.

The faucet comes with one soap dispenser. But we have four holes in our sink so we have filled them with extra soap dispensers.

They both look and sound like nice faucets. It depends on if you want or like the really tall ones. I don't care for the tall ones - but I'm short and that might be why. the reach part makes a difference where the water falls into the sink. I stood in front of my sink and put my hands out as if to wash them or clean veggies. This showed me about where I needed the spout hght to me. A low one would put it about where my hands would be, so I want it to be a bit higher - like 8-9" up from counter level. I also don't want the reach part to close to the back side of the sink either - that would cause me to have to reach to far in to put my hands under the water. try something like that with your sink and see where it's comfortable to you.

Our Kohler Simplice retracts and stays in place better than our Elkay Moda, but like Breezy, I know part of the problem is too much stuff under the prep sink that interferes with how the weight works on the hose. I love having the pull downs. We've had ours over 4 yrs. Misslivvy, other things you might want to watch for is if the pull down actually has a spray option (the Simplice does and the Moda doesn't, so I miss that feature at the prep sink), and whether the spray option stays engaged when you're not holding the button and after you turn it off. It's nice not to have to hold the button down, but also, it's frustrating when the kids engage the spray and it comes on the next time I turn on the faucet and don't expect it. ;-) As Breezy said, also, I only find splashing to be a problem with user error... When we hold things in the stream of water too high and too close to the faucet. I imagine it depends on the depth of the sink, too....But ours aren't super deep. (7-9")

Love my Brizo Floriano. BUT, one thing I didn't think of but would not change my mind anyway, is that there does tend to be more finger prints because you are always handling the spray head. The floriano is a little too easily swung from one side to another, and I have hit it a couple of times and sent it flying to pour water on my countertop. Do leave it running full force when not using it in case you hit it. Love having a built in soap dispenser with neverMT but the Floriano one is a little too loose in its base and doesn't pump as much soap as I would like in one pump. VERY easy to use and handle, single hole makes it easy to clean around, spray head is metal on the outside not plastic, but light weight, and the spray button is hard plastic rather than rubber and lets you keep the nozzle on spray without holding it the entire time. Got a great deal on it from faucetdepot.com, less than 300.00 for the full size chrome faucet WITH the soap dispenser. Overall, I like it very much. Sue

Both my main sink and my prep sink have high arcs. Not the super high commercial type with a spring, just the 12-15 inch high solid arch type. Neither splash, though the corner placement we went with on the prep sink (for use from 2 sides as well as a shallow cabinet depth) means that the water stream ia a little closer to the edges and you can get water running off your hands or something you are rinsing if you hold it up high. It was something to think about, but I wouldn't change it anyway -- water hits granite and wipes off. I wipe the counter anyway. Splattering all over might be different. The main faucet is a Whitehaus Metrohaus and is placed in the center of a larger sink. We don't have a splashing issue. Our neighbors put in a similarly sized Kohler Vinata and said they regretted the splashing. They have a shallow sink and I did't notice the drain placement. You can get splashing if the water stream hits the drain, especially off the folds of the rubber baffle -- ironically, also called a splash guard (but that is for splashes out of the disposal). The faucet we replaced was a straight pullout, I would never go back to one of those. We use large stockpots and do canning. I also have large baking sheets I need to wash without having water running all over the way it did with a divided sink and short faucet.

I'm not sure if this is considered a low arc pull-out or not but here is mine. It is the Brizo Baliza. I am loving it. Mind you have been using if for just about a week.
