Show me your white appliance kitchens, please
Comments (21)Thanks for the info, maria410. I did a little research on AR and discovered it's all gas. I love my gas cooktop (wouldn't do anything else) but I've never used a gas oven before. Had you used one before you bought your AR? If not, was it a difficult adjustment? I think I'd have a hard time selling the rest of the family on a gas stove (not even sure if I'd like it). circuspeanut, we posted at the same time so I missed your kitchen (lovely!). Love the antique stove! It reminds me of the one my grandma used. Did you refurbish it or was it already done? I'm fine with my appliance color selection but dang I wish there were more choices available in white. Almost every time I think I've found the right cooktop, range or oven (haven't decided which option works best), I discover it's only offered in SS. My designer has said that we can make it work if I end up with one appliance in SS because the accent tile we're using has 1x1" squares of steely gray (along with tan, cream, white and some cool burnt sugar looking glass). Did any of you run into this same frustration?...See MoreShow me your window treatments in your white kitchen!
Comments (1)Show us your kitchen! And what style do you gravitate to? What colors do you like? I'm not even going to do anything to my windows for the forseeable future. I have a piece of fabric (just one?....um. No.)That I keep thinking I will hold up to the window. Maybe tomorrow ;-)...See MoreShow me your Stained Wood Cabinets with Wood Floors
Comments (17)owls4me: We absolutely LOVE the cumaru. It's my DH's favorite part of the new house - and I had to convince him to go with this wood :) Our flooring installer got the flooring for us. It is supposed to be from a sustainable forest (I hope so, but unless I went to look at the forest in brazil, I wouldn't trust it!). So I don't know the 'brand' of cumaru. We just put coats of semi-gloss poly on it feeling like the coloring was dark enough and didn't want to cover all of the gorgeous variation that we fell in love with. The cumaru is holding up very well (we've only been in the house since April, so no long term info). It has withstood tons of banging and falling objects (thank you very much to my toddlers and my clumsy self!) without a single nick or dent - this stuff is HARD! Let me give my GC a call to see if I can find out more info. If you are near the chicagoland area, the installers were incredible and would recommend them in a heart beat! atct86: hope you are finding inspiration - you really can't go wrong with natural materials!...See Morepls show me your white kitchens
Comments (57)Lexmom, I have a Jennair 'fully integrated built in' refrigerator...wanted to get that term correct because I get terribly confused sometimes by the many nuances of built in/integrated fridges :). It was my splurge, to reference another topic, on the kitchen because in a narrow dark galley I wanted to maximize the open feel as much as possible. Doing the built in eliminated a large refrigerator looming into the space and the panel seems to keep the eye traveling in a smooth path along the cabinetry. I've had many people tell me my kitchen looks "so much larger now" which is nice. Have linked to the refrigerator info below. And while I'm here what isn't so nice is that comment oceangirl. As someone pointed out, it seemed gratuitously mean, not sure why you would take the time to post something snarky in an otherwise pleasant online conversation. Here is a link that might be useful: Jennair Built In Refrigerator...See More- 10 years ago
