Anyone ever buy from West Elm?

I have been looking for a new rug for my living room, and have started to like the braided jute rugs. I just found one last night in the very large size I'm looking for (9x12) for only $299 plus $25 in shipping on the West Elm website. It even has a diamond pattern that I really like. I haven't found any on the web even close to that cheap, and I am very close to buying.

I used to get the West Elm catalogs all the time, and although they are sometimes too modern for me, their stuff looks to be of decent quality. Anyone ever bought from them? I'm kind of hesitant to buy something that big sight unseen from the net.

I bought a headboard from them and I love it. I haven't tried any of their rugs. They have a store in town but I haven't been to it because I don't like driving over to where it is. Do you have any brick and mortar stores near you? I saw their rugs online last night and really liked the look. I was looking at the curtains they have on clearance but the size doesn't work for me.

I really like the look and think these types of rugs add so much texture to a room and are much more interesting than the plain sisals I've seen. I found out it's on backorder, but should still ship before Christmas. The lady I spoke with on the phone said I had 30 days to return, but I'm sure the shipping would be quite high on something that big. I guess that's a risk I'll have to take. Can anyone give an opinion on whether this looks like decent quality? It looks to be of a nice weight and thickness. The lady at West Elm said it's nothing like one of those flimsy dhurries.

I have ordered from hazzards a few times and am quite happy with the seed quality and service. The only time I had one of their seeds not grow true to type...it was "yellow pear" tomato. I wasn't worried about that one, but everything else I bought was good.

Thank you everyone. DA was also pushing Darley stating she would do well in my heat. I am thinking of putting my Lady of Shallott out there too as I think she might get too big for my bed in the back. Not sure about the color combo of Brother Cadfael, Darley and Lady.

I haven't seen this particular table but I have a mirror in their bone material and so I thought it might be helpful for you to see a close-up shot of it. It is definitely more cream than white.

I love my rug from West Elm.

It's on my stair landing and is very good quality. I did order it off their website, and it came right away. The jute rug sounds very nice, I'm sure my cats would love to get their claws in that one!

That looks like a nice, substantial rug to me.
If you really like - go for it.
I wouldn't worry about quality, West Elm is owned by Williams Sonoma (so is Pottery Barn).

I've bought a couple of knick-knacks from them. We now have a store nearby. But I once ordered a shower curtain from mailorder and was very disappointed, it was lousy quality and the colors didn't look the same as in the catalog. I ended up sending it back.

West Elm is opening a store by me. I have always been curious about their quality, too. I always look at their clearance sales on-line but never bought anything (yet.)

I bought the jute boucle rug for our basement sitting room from them...completely satisfied with it. It looks like more money than it was, which is always nice! We also bought a pair of Parsons low bookshelves, which were of very good quality, and a nice throw that feels like cashmere (but isn't), and some hanging glass votive holders, and several very nice silk curtain panels. Lots of their things are too modern and too youthful looking for my house, but I've been very happy to fill in with their simpler things.

My daughter is a West Elm junkie, has ordered several things from them and it's always been a perfect transaction.
