I have a Grohe Concetto with pull-down. It retracts the moment you let the hose go, so it will not work for you. One you can strike from your list, if you have one, ;-). Sorry, Petra

I'm not confident that *any* pull down sprayer has that ability to spray "crooked". They pretty much all have flexible tubing which would just hang straight down even if they didn't retract right away.

Thank you, Lesyeuxbleu! Your call for answers will bring out some information. I've been asking this question also. I also think it is worth looking at. Manufacturers don't look at this aspect. I've called them and not heard any serious answer. I too would like to know if the hose reseats itself when there is running water in it, or if the ball swivel joint can remain "crooked" so that the small handspray tip can be directed to point to a side or into a corner.

marcydc you are a nice person, and I'll add that there ARE faucets that can spray sideways. Nobody wants to walk away for a long time... some people just want the spray to reach a colander or another area not directly underneath the pivoting arm. Leave this thread alone until you see a few more positive responses.

Lesyeuxbleu, in response to your initial query a week ago I listed five faucet manufacturers. Also, I started a thread that listed these 5 previously.

There could be many more. But, do the handsprays remain angled to the side when you want them to be angled to the side?

My KWC Ono pulldown is one you can take off your list.
My KWC Ono pullout can do this. But you said down and not out so never mind.

You can buy ball swivels for any faucet with an old style bubbler. Not as pretty though.

I just got back from Lowes. They did not know of any integrated ball swivels (not a pulldown) like my current one, although she suggested we search for it since I know it is delta. But as I said earlier I am moving on to "pull down". The pull downs that they had displayed were way up high. The ones that were low enough to touch didn't really give me a realistic feel for how it would work. Some of them didn't even have the hose long enough for me to pull it out. The one that I saw that was a ball swivel was a very loose connection and didn't hold its place to allow me to "walk away". (so sorry I forget the brand)

I don't necessarily want to walk away but It is easier to describe that way. Plus It is nice to be able to spray water into a dirty pan or coffee cup in the corner while I am grabbing things on the other side of the kitchen as I get ready to do dishes.

I am now about to give up on the "walk away aspect" I just don't have enough time. And I have a houseful of fixtures and colors to pick. And (thank goodness) we are about a month away.

I did consider Delta's new technology thinking that I could easily turn it off easily when I have to walk off and on again easily when I step back.
Lowe's had The ASHTON with Touch2o technology and a MagnaTite docking feature. Believe it or not I kinda think that even with the magnetic dock I might be able to angle it a bit and walk away. Ashton and Pilar were the only *ONLY* faucets that had the touch technology. I asked her if any other company had it and she said no. BTW I just googled the Ashton and I found out it NEEDS BATTERIES. good to know. There was no mention of that at Lowes.I wonder how hard the batteries are to change? The review says that they are 4 C batteries under the sink. So it may not be an issue. But it also says that it came on while they were cleaning it. I think that might be a bigger drawback when I clean it or move it out of the way because it will turn on when I want it off. pooh I though I had made a decision.

My only other concern with the Pull down faucet is I wonder how hard it will be to get the hose back into the faucet. But I guess as long as the weight is correct it shouldn't be a problem. Moen's REFLEX technology looks like it is fantastic, Except it definitely won't be "walk away spray".

I guess I am back to the drawing board. Looking for a hose that easily retracts but lets me control it.

Davidrol Thank you for your links. I had found your post on my last thread and it got me started. I emailed Delta (the maker of my current faucet) replied that I needed to order a seperate part. Uhhh no. I figured if they can't even suggest their own product - I am better off with you all here are GardenWeb!

Thanks everyone for your responses - I will assume that everyone enjoys their faucets, so I may keep them as contenders anyway since I believe I am on an impossible quest. If I have to give up my walk away spray I darn well don't want a loose hose! haa

I think you should be able to point and leave the Kohler Karbon unattended?

My pull down retracts thanks to a weight that is installed around the hose during installation. I imagine most work this way. You possibly could omit the weight when installing the faucet. I've never done this so it's just a thought... and I'm not sure how easy it will be to point it unattended.

This thing will do what you want but the aesthetics may be an issue.

The Kohler Karbon came to mind. It is an articulated faucet. You can point it pretty much where ever you want.

I just got a 2nd EMAIL FROM DELTA. This time she apologized for the confusion and believes that my faucet is in their (I believe discontinued) Michael Graves line. I sent her pics for her to confirm and asked if I could get another one or if they had more options like it. BG =). I finally have confirmation that it exists! Oh and BTW it does have a separate sprayer (that I forgot to put in the picture)

I will post again when I hear back from Delta.

And I love love the KARBON! Unfortunately we are doing a beach house and it doesn't really go with the look. Plus its like $800. But SOOO cool. thanks

I FOUND IT!

After a few, not to helpful, emails from Delta, I have found the faucet. (unimpressed with Delta customer service, they emailed me back a link to a website to buy the faucet (they no longer carry it), but neglected to even give me a model number or confirm the collection name.
But I found it on my own.
It is DELTA MICHAEL GRAVES collection. There are only a couple of faucets in the collection and this is the only single handle (with side sprayer). I was hoping to have a bigger selection but I got it for about $70 (without a sprayer, which I only use once or twice a week, anyway).

Thanks to all of you for your input, and I wish everyone good luck in finding their faucets.

This faucet is a practical use of ball joint connector at the hose/spray junction.
The spray can swivel and also remain fully supported by a hose guide tube / faucet body.

Answers to the questions about the Delta Pilar:
The pull down hose will stay down with water running while you walk away. There's a magnetic connection between the pull down part and the faucet, so you just have to push the spray part up into the faucet to get it back to normal.

My kitchen has been finished since last December, and I haven't had to replace the batteries yet, but it won't be any more difficult than changing batteries in a remote. They're in a small open box with a cord about a foot and a half long, so they can be pulled near the front of the cabinet. The only issue is having C batteries. I don't usually keep that size on hand, but since they say there will be a warning, I'm not concerned.

When you want to clean the faucet, all you have to do is turn the water off at the lever. No big deal. I'm happy with my decision. No complaints.

Just starting my faucet search. Know I want single handle with pull out or pull down. Don't know much else yet.

I searched faucet today and found this thread and wah-lah.

Now I'm going to track down aliris who has one in her laundry area.
