Tuscan style laundry room photos?

Has anyone decorated their laundry room in Tuscan style? Want to make it look Old World but with modern Samsung washer/dryer, it's a challenge!

I don't know what style our laundry room is but thought I'd share the photos. I'd love to see what you do. I do love old world. Maybe I could incorporate some ideas into my room.

Thanks so much for your photos. They're great. If I ever get finished with this reno, I will definitely post pictures - if only to convince myself it is really over!!

I have laundry closets, one on the bottom floor and one on the top. The top is a stackable so there's no room for decor. I wish I'd have made that room just a tad bigger so I didn't have to keep laundry soap in the adjoining bathroom (it's in a huge glass container though and everyone thinks I dropped a fortune on bath salts to fill it heh heh). If I ever have a real room dedicated to laundry I'd do antique butlers pantry as my look. Painted cabinets, marble counters, laundry machines hidden behind cabinets, beautiful lighting, a huge fold and storge area....heaven in the laundry....and I'd like a full time maid to stand there and deal with the laundry as well...as long as we're dreaming! My lower closet is in our family room. I painted the walls in a soft cream and the cabinets in a color called patince (a very soft yellow). It has my giraffe door handles for access, and the doors are painted in metalic chalkboard.

First of all, love the windows! I agree that everything is a bit too overdone, too brown, and too faux-distressed. But I see good bones! I like the fireplace and the rich wood trim/cabinets and stone floors. For me, the first thing to go would be those drapes and the drapery rods. From there I'd say the place needs some color. That much brown would make me depressed. I'd look at repainting something less brown/beige. I'd either replace the sofa or maybe see if the fringe could be removed. Call me crazy, but I don't mind the "wagon wheel" and rather of like the ceiling beams throughout. I think the problem is that the lighting is too "heavy" and intricate. I'd look to replace the lighting with something more sleek, but maybe still in the iron finish. I like a lot of the iron light fixtures from Restoration Hardware. They're not quite so heavy. I love the suggestions for sort of a "beachy" look with linens, whites, etc. I think color would be great, but some soft, light furniture would also help lighten up the place. Depending on budget, your new home looks like a really fun decorating project!

Not, my house, but my parents' time capsule. Dated, a little stiff--although we use it a lot--but I still find it completely pleasant and not as dated as it could be since it was furnished 45 years ago and some of the upholstery is original to then and some is from about 1987. It has definitely had an influence on my viewpoint: (I think it's kind of unfortunate that mirrors like that were reproduced in every form including 100% plastic at the time of the Bicentennial. It's a genuine 19th c. girandole, but in pictures it looks a bit trite)

LOVE your laundry room!!! :) It's lovely and peaceful and just needs a punch of color to bring it alive. I'd add some easy-care plants near the windows and a photo or painting that you adore in the spot above the dryer. I like the suggestion of a valence or a roman shade above the window. Find a fabric that coordinates with your artwork and ideally includes green from the plants and a maybe a punch of red. Overall, find a few things you truly love. You're going to spend a lot of time in this room and guests will rarely see it, so I think making it a "haven" for yourself would be wonderful. Here is a link that might be useful:

I'm in the process of trying to make my laundry room a bit more welcoming to me. I say me because I'm the one who spends what feels like a lifetime in there swearing under my breath.

dinobambino: Your laundry room looks so inviting and your dog is adorable!! What breed is your dog? I wish my laundry room had windows like yours.

bichonlover3: I'm assuming you have a Bichon Frise? We have one too. Please post pics of your laundry room when it's completed. I'm hoping it'll motivate me to do more then paint mine and view it as a torture chamber.

Dinobambino - you gave me great ideas on kitchen forum and mentioned you had a bivhon but did not say he/she did the laundry for you! :) HMMM, must speak to my 3 about that!

mldao - Bichons rock! I have 2 rescue bichons and our newest rescue, a maltipoo, who thinks he is a bichon and looks like one so we just lump him in! Does you bichon do laundry like dinobambino's bichon?

My bichon is the reason I wash my slipcovered couches bi-monthly. She jumps in the pool every chance she gets and then comes into the house to rub herself dry. She was driving me crazy with her water obession until I found out they're water dogs. There's a great website "gone to the dogs" that my niece introduced me to a few Thanksgiving's ago and we had so much fun with it. You enter your stats, personality, likes and dislikes and it tells you what breed of dog you'd be. It gives you their history and a bunch of fun little facts. Based on my personality and stats I was a bichon. LOL

In my opinion, everyone in the world should be lucky enough to "be a bichon" :)
Only my maltipoo (aka fake but loveable bichon!) goes in the pool. I think the other 2 are scaedy cats - oops, dogs - or they just haven't figured it out.
Have a few ideas for laundry room going around in my head. We'll see how it all pans out.
