I love that first rug! It's classic, the blue in the center is gorgeous and I think it would soften the wood and leather nicely.

I like the first but also the middle one, too.

I really like the middle one. It has an updated look, imo. My second favorite is the last one...I think I prefer the middle one because it has a medium size print and a border. I also like the bit of red in the middle rug and I think the taupe color in the middle of the rug goes better with the paint color. The first one may be too gold/yellow. You're paint is more gray beige. I've looked at a lot of rugs lately because I am also looking for a rug for our great room and we also have a dark leather coach very similar to yours. What other funiture do you have in the room? I need some inspiration because I'm looking for a couple of chairs too. My paint color is similar too! LOL! It is SW relaxed khaki. Could you tell me where you found the middle rug? It might actually work for my room too!

I like the middle choice for a few reasons. The blue is very subtle, so you can play that up or if you chose to go in another color direction later on, you could have that flexibility. Also, there's several shades of neutral in this rug. I have Bennington Gray in my 2-story foyer and two hallways. It's a chameleon color. In lots of sun it looks neutral beige with no undertones. When there's less light or evening, it's taupe with green undertones.

Boysrus2 - I now what you mean about Bennington Gray, I have it in many rooms in our house and my kids keep telling me it is green or peach.

I'm glad no one is leaning toward the last one, it is more expensive and the sizes it is available in don't work as well for the shape of the areas I need to cover.

I'd love to hear more opinions...seems like we are split between 1 and 2.

I personally like the first one much better. However, I have to offer the disclaimers that 1) I love traditional/classic rug styles and 2) Blue's my favorite color, so given any choice I'll usually gravitate towards the choice offering more blue. With brown/taupe walls, brown floor and brown furniture, I'd be more likely to choose the rug with more blue to serve as an 'anchor' for the planned blue curtains and pillows. I like a heavy dose of color, though, so that influences my choices.

They're all gorgeous! I prefer them in the order they're posted above. And I have to say that I think you could get away with having the rug in the entry and family room not match, but be in harmonizing tones - even though your space is open. I think that would create an interesting, eclectic look.

Gosh, I love rugs. I used to tell people that I have a rug fetish (but not in too weird a way). I find it a little frustrating to select them because I always seem to fall in love with all of them!

I like either rug 1 or 2.
I would not match the hallway rug. I find that look tends to take away from the uniqueness of the other rug.
I would rather see something that compliments the LR rug but stands on its own.

I like the middle one better because the richer tones work with the other elements better. The second one works beautifully with the wood sample and the first one is only ok with it.

AuntJen, be happy it is just rugs and not men ;-).

While on a stand alone basis, I think the first one is "prettiest", I think the middle one looks the best with the other elements in the room, especially the paint color. The first rug seems too gold for the paint.

I would do two different rugs, and likely stay away from the blue in the entry. Let that be the neutral space between the LR and the FR.

I think the second rug fills the bill wonderfully for the FR. First seems peachy, and the third feels like too much blue and too bold a design.

i don't necessarily think your family room rug and the entry rug have to be identical.....though the middle one might be best for entry too just because it is alittle darker...

I think it also depends on the "style" you are looking for.
Traditional - I'd go w/rug #1
Pottery Barn - I'd go w/rug #2
Transitional - #3

Ratherbesewing here are model numbers, once you find the name, do a serch for the name and different sizes will come up, however I have noticed that sometimes some of the same sizes of different rugs have different name. Love Overstock but the search process is crazy! I have spent way too much time searching.

Of course now I have noticed the second rug does not come in the size I really need, or maybe I just can't locate it on overstock.

Okay, so just when I settled on #2 above I realized they don't have the size I need. Here are the first rug plus 2 more. I will have chocolate brown crapet going up my stairs (visible from Family room and entry and in the ling room and dining room.

If they are out of stock on the size you need, they can email you when it is back in.

Also, you can try another vendor like RugsUSA or Home Decorators. I saw some of the Overstock rugs I liked on those sites.

Of your 3 above, I would still go with the #1. What I found is that my mistake was choosing rugs that did not have enough contrast with the floor, and the one you have in the middle now might not do that.

The size isn't manufactured, and I thought the larger one would work until I measured with everything in the room moved (we are rennovating). Neither RugsUSA or Home Decorators seems to carry it.

I agree that the first one definitely sounds like the winner. What about the second one in the entry in a different size? Just got the entryway rug...I opted for the rug in the first post in the middle, in a 6' round. It is beautiful and soft, I LOVE it. Thanks everyone!
