Please help with backsplash ideas, and sneak peak at new kitchen
Comments (29)I haven't seen that granite in person, but wow yours is so glossy and beautiful. Love the way it looks with your cabinets; the peninsula looks soooo pretty. Don't like the marble BS with your granite. Agree with palimpsest that the scale and pattern of the movement is too similar to that in your granite. They'll end up fighting rather than complementing each other. Of the glass I like the one in the middle. More neutral than the others and looks to go very well with the color of the floors. I don't think it's stark. The subway is a great shape that melds with the traditional ( transitional?) style of your cabs, but the glass has a modern feel and goes well with your fabulously glossly granite which is the star in that kitchen. Keep it simple. BTW, no matter what the backsplash or what the GC says, no No NO to the 4" granite BS! If you have more of the glass tile, yes please post a picture with several in place so we can see how it looks and please show us whatever else you find!...See MorePlease help me with backsplash choice!!
Comments (24)I really do like that glass, I have to say. You'd have to be careful how you lay it out, so that the light blue doesnt get lost in the paint color, but I think it is do-able. The slate that your hubbie picked out looks nice, too. In the photo without a flash (assuming that the colors are accurate) the tans of the slate really pick up some of the accent colors of the counter. At least in the photo, I like it better than the ostrich, and I may have to nix my previous comment about the "yellowness" of the slate. But I really like that glass........See MoreI need help, advice, critique etc with my new kitchen backsplash
Comments (91)Mexican white 'field tile" and accent tiles from http://www.finecraftsimports.com/ fine Crafts and Imports out of Camarillo, CA. GREAT company to work with BTW! We got the mural here https://mexican-tile.net/Kitchen-Tile-Mural-Mexican-Kitchen--P2317632.aspx , also a good company; albeit a bit slow, but the mural comes from Mexico. BTW, Suggest you have a pro install the mural, because if you break one of the mural tiles you are SOL...........See Moreseeking backsplash advice
Comments (17)Kristina, beautiful. your hood is very similar to mine! (walnut-it's not the best picture but it is the same color as yours) (and I can't even decide on my own splash!) I also have walnut shelving over the coffee bar and on the other side of the island. what kind of tile are you leaning towards, or what kind of look? you have a great wall to show off some great tile work. Because of your warm wood flooring, I would stay away from most the gray colors. something w/black (or white) or this mixture of the deep bronze/alloy black metallic glaze, would look beautiful next to your countertop, and match your floor color. I can't photoshop any of these onto your photos because you posted them through the Houzz link. if you post a pic on the photo icon in comments, I can do it. these are Encore Ceramics, metallic glaze options. (they come in all shapes) Tilebar or you could do a Bardiglio marble, which is a bit darker than the Carrara. mother of pearl (also has the warmer hues to it) And they have a black MOP that is stunning. or go w/a black/white marble...See MoreRelated Professionals
