How do I find this light fixture?

I posted yesterday about needing to do my whole house at once. I saw a light fixture on Apartment Therapy this morning that I'm completely, totally in love with!

I've tried various google searches, including a search by image, but no luck. I left a comment in the house tour. I'm posting here in hopes that someone might recognize it, or have a better idea than I do how to find it.

i've been shopping around a lot for lighting as well, including that industrial/cage style, and i haven't come across that EXACT light yet.

this is the closet i could find, but it's through a china wholesale sketchy looking website. :(

what is it about that light in particular that you love? there are oodles of cage lights out there, maybe we can help find alternatives? is it the shape? size? heaviness of the wire?

The only thing I can find that's close is the one linked below. That is an awesome fixture. I hope you hear back about it.

Sorry about my poor spelling, Fluorescent is the correct spelling (I think). Amazon shows a starter FS25 as corresponding to the F26T8-CW/4 bulb. A starter is fixture dependent, as I recall some "ballast" designs include the starter (built in). Thanks Randy, but I doubt the correctness of the swap bulb. The F26... is indeed 26" long and is a bulb built specifically for appliances, I have learned. It is on a 30" wide range (standard size) and just about covers the whole width, i.e., just enclosure of a couple of inches on each side. I will see if I can easily open the cover further to check for ballast and starter.

Hi Emily, This is a lovely area. One of our fixtures with a drop bracket would work well with this application. See the photos below for some examples. The French Quarter or the Six Sided French Quarter on drop brackets are both great options. We can scale out the correct size complementary if you are able to send in your photos with the height of the ceiling and the height of the door. Just as a for instance, if you bought a S+P 500 index fund, its performance would be EXACTLY the same as that index it was mirroring, adjusted for costs. Elmer, I believe you misunderstood me. Of course stock *index* funds perform the same as the index they are mirroring. I was talking about nonindex stock funds like mutual funds that are managed. They often underperform the stock indexes. From investopedia: Generally, when you look at mutual fund performance over the long run, you can see a trend of actively-managed funds underperforming the S&P 500 index. A common statistic is that the S&P 500 outperforms 80% of mutual funds. While this statistic is true in some years, it's not always the case. A better comparison is provided by Burton Malkiel, the man who popularized efficient market theory in A Random Walk Down Wall Street. The 1999 edition of his book begins by comparing a $10,000 investment in the S&P 500 index fund to the same amount in the average actively-managed mutual fund. From the start of 1969 through June 30, 1998, the index investor was ahead by almost $140,000: her original $10,000 increased 31-times to $311,000, while the active-fund investor ended up with only $171,950.

How do I open this light fixture to replace the bulb?

Before you try anything else, I would try to lift up the top bracket. It might just pull outwards and then the glass could be removed. I have seen several fixtures where the metal brackets securing the glass are spring loaded. Since you can see a screw underneath, chances are that is the answer but I would try the spring theory first, as it is easy to test.

Oh, thank you! The Uttermost light is very close.

Maggiepie, what I like about it is the shape. It's a perfect gourd or arabesque-inspired silhouette. I also love the brass or warm metal detail at the top.

I saw a light like that on our craigslist but it had blown glass inside the cage. The owner said it was a mid century "onion light" if that helps at all. It is lovely!
