I just bought a headboard for my DD's room and it is coming 11/22. I just ordered Ellen's new summer colors - can't wait to see Rain, serene green, and sable - those might work for what I want to do.

I'm enjoying your thread! Much easier to help someone else's home than your own! I tried to PS this in the paint program, but I don't know how to cut out just the headboard to paste over the bed. Hopefully, someone more talented than me will come along! If not, it will be here before I know it!

Are you using the flax bosporus in there? Were you the one, I can't remember? Didn't you have an inspiration board?

I really like the print alot - framing will make it. I was thinking something very curvy and french for over the bed. I also like the look of putting mirrors behind lamps over nightstands.

You guys are great! Yes, Johnatemp, I plan on using the Bosporus Flax on the windows. The paint I *think* I am going to use is BM Delaware Putty. What is on the walls now is SW Ecru. IRL it is quite green. More than I like really. In bright light it looks khaki. The putty color won't look that different on the computer screen, but irl it is a nice soft color. I am waiting for a framing sale so I can get the picture done. I saw those mirrors in crate and barrel and I love them. I'll have to find a place for them. One above each nightstand was another place I had considered. The room actually has a vaulted ceiling. The peak is on the wall where you see the bed, so there is a lot of wall space.
Hoyamom, Homegoods has alot of duvets mixed in with their sheets. This one is 'The Hotel Collection by Hillcrest". It has a greek key border in a silvery blue. They have others that are very similar, so head on over!

Have you seen the panels on eBay in the Bosporus flax? 100% feedback - I have no affliation with this person. I can't sew so always look to see whats available.

If you have a vaulted ceiling- you can really play on that wall with the picture & mirrors.

Johnatemp thankyou! I had seen them earlier and then they were gone. I guess there are more. Really not a bad price considering! Found these two mirrors, one a goldtone the other nickel. Maybe one of these for over the bed? As for the wall paint, I am waiting for the headboard to get a better idea of what will work. A darker option is below. BM 241 Jonesboro Cream

I don't think that is a bad deal on the drapes, either. Plus you could have them SOON!! I am having slipcovers made & she is taking forever, forever, forever!!

Some animal print would be fun in there, too. I have some on an accent chair in my MB. Old pics, of course things have changed in there - but simliar colors.

My new headboard comes on Sat and I am waiting to see it in the room to see what paint color I would like in there. I am leaning toward Silver Sage (BM grey wisp). It is blanched almond right now but I want something more spa like to go with the EK Aqua in the attached bathroom.

Hoyamom, are you ready for this? The nickel miror is at Toys-R-Us! I guess they have changed some since I shopped there! I just searched 'sunburst' mirror and it popped up. I didn't check the size. Now that I just zoomed in on it for the first time, it is the same mirror I think I saw at TJ or Marshall's in the early fall,for $69! It was pretty big! Silly me!

Sable, that bowl thingie came with hooks on the back. My mom got it for me years ago.

Oh, the needlepoint pillow came from eBay, too. It was very reasonable - it was just the cover & I got a cheap pillow from wally world to stuff it with. The pillow has moved up to the guest room.

Did you make that eBay purchase yet? She has excellent feedback - go for it!! Gotten the bed yet?

kmcg85, I've been thinking about you and your headboard. Do you have any real life pix to show? I'd like to see how the color looks in real life.

Are you satisfied with your purchase? What's your opinion on the construction of the piece? Is it sturdy? Does it knock around at all? Are the legs stained, or do they have fabric on them? Are you happy with the fabric? Is it stretched tightly, or is it loose at all in places?

I really liked your selection, and I thought I might be able to duplicate that but with more fabric choices. I searched around my area and found that Calico Corner (a fabric store) makes headboards. I went there yesterday and had them price out a tufted queen size headboard. I almost keeled over when they estimated $953 WITHOUT THE FABRIC! Yikes. I am not at all handy and wouldn't attempt to DIY a project like this.

oofasis -- Calico Corners has wonderful sales throughout the year, and I think they do first-rate work, at least the four CCs (although I think they're now calling themselves Calico Home) in two states I've used have done incredible work.

Earlier this year (as in September, maybe?) I ordered a king headboard, bedskirt and dummy panels from them and because of the sale I think all of it was like $1400. ??? I should double-check the receipt, but that's the number which is sticking in my head. (It was a sale on both fabric and labor!) I know the headboard alone was ~$700 (again, the sale price) which astonished me (because I'd been expecting to spend at least twice that).

Anyway, get on their mailing list. (snail-mail) They'll send you postcards announcing their sales.

Oh, you can pretty easily make your own upholstered headboard -- I did it, but I have to say that the CC headboard does cartwheels around mine (and mine was quite good, if I can immodestly write). Oh, there's a gal here who recently made her own tufted headboard -- texas something. Look for her and headboard in the search feature -- she gave a good play-by-play of how she made it.

I agree about the quality of CC's work. They had a headboard in the shop and it was terrific. A very substantial piece, too. But they charge extra for every little thing. $10 for each tufting (not sure what they're called).

oofasis, I did post an uodate when the headboard arrived. I am linking to it below. I am very pleased with it. It is a linen blend fabric. Very nicely done! The legs are brown metal like what a bed frame looks like. They do not bother me at all because you can't really see them. I haven't gotten much farther I'm afraid! I am waiting for a framing sale to take the picture in. I do much better once everyone has gone back to work and school and I am alone! I promise I will post pics when I make some headway!
