Should I paint all my trim white? (Pics)

As we're finishing up the bathroom, I'm wondering if I should paint all the woodwork in the house white. I don't mind the wood, for the most part it's not orange and in fair condition (needs cleaning and has some scratches and gouges).

We are getting rid of all the carpet and plan on either medium/dark hardwood or laminate. Painting would be a lot of work, but might be nice to lighten up the house and would allow me to add some detail trim to the plain doors. I'm more use to white woodwork and prefer a clean fresh look. I would also like to add crown molding possibly wainscoting in some rooms and not sure I'd like dark to match the baseboards or white with dark baseboards.

Is it hard to paint all the inside window frame areas? I'm concerned about the windows sticking if I paint them.

Pics are the living/dining room area right after we moved in last year around Christmas (the house is a mess with projects right now). So a few things have changed like lighting/lamps, some decorating.
