Finished creamy-white-cabinet kitchen
Comments (8)Hi Tara, Thanks for the kind words! The design was a labor of love and I second-guessed myself so much I nearly went crazy! So thank you. And yes, those old ceiling fixtures were doozies, weren't they? My husband bought the house without me seeing it (cross-country move and me too pregnant to travel) and those lights were my least-favorite surprise when we moved in... The window treatment is a new addition -- went in just days before Christmas. The treatment over the sink is a faux-shade -- that is, it doesn't really go up or down, because I had had blinds there before and never moved them. On the windows by the table I have roman shades in the same fabric, lined with heavy fabric b/c we need light control there. All were custom made by a woman in Northern Virginia. The fabric is "Paddock Shawl" by Waverly; the color is "Porcelain." Please feel free to email me if you have more questions! Amy...See MoreAppliances with creamy white cabinets? Comments (14)I wish that appliance manufacturer's would give us different options. How I would love to see a bronze refrigerator. JennAir had bronze in their line up several years ago but it wasn't well received. It must have been too reminiscent of the old coppertone appliances. Bisque and almond never quite hit the mark and are almost impossible to find. I would think that bisque or almond would look better with creamy white than bright white. I am tired of ss but that is what we are going with due to the lack of other options. Black would have been too dark and I didn't feel white would look good....See MoreDoes this combo work for an all creamy white kitchen?
Comments (17)Wow...what a great daughter and son-in-law...you are both to be commended for your dedication to family. The kitchen sounds beautiful, love the creams. Since your sister is physically challenged, need to be sure that there are things set up to be ergonomically friendly for all, but I am sure you know that. Counter height is important along with special needs in the bathrooms. I live in a retirement community and have a bad back, so I truly enjoy the single level living, just wish I had put a few more assist bars in various locations. I also wish I had installed a walk-in tub in my guest bedroom for when my Mom visits. I just did a shower there, but she prefers baths. She did try a walk-in tub recently and felt it was too small, so hope they will eventually make them bigger as I still may do that. Needless to say my OTR microwave is too high for her to use, so maybe one of those microwave drawers might be good in your Mom's kitchen. That quartz is gorgeous...love that color and design. It will look great with the ORB fixtures....See MoreCreamy white cabinets and white marble? Need overnight decision!
Comments (7)Well, I don't have exactly for what you're looking but I do have a (mostly) white kitchen with (white) marble atop the white cabs: I love it! I love the white on white and find it incredibly soothing, timeless and easy on the eye (not so much contrast). But that's me. I also appreciate ccombs1' point but it makes me think of ahneb's kitchen (never posted a finished kitchen so don't bother looking in the FKB -- instead, do a search on GW). She has creamy cabs and a white marble. Also, do a search for erikanh: she's posted lots of beautiful inspiration pictures with creamy / white cabs and white marble .... (just did a search and here's the link to ahneb's photos.) But before you decide on a white marble, do first look at your fabricator's remnants -- you never know what gem you might find! (By the way, I love Virginia Mist -- it is so pretty!)...See Morerkb21
