Can anyone post pics of Super White granite and white cabinets?
Comments (10)Dark photo of super white on a white island right after counter installed in my kitchen. Don't give up on the super white. I looked at 5 different slabs before I found one that would work for us. It really varies from a med/dark gray to a swirly white & light gray. Eventually I started calling the fabricators and asking about their super white. If I got someone knowledgeable they would describe it and send a photo. Be very specific about what you want - I wanted it to have some white but nice contrast so the very gray and swirly white/light gray didn't work. The slab we found also has some areas that are almost peach (it is very light, just an accent tone in the background) that I loved with our red birch perimeter cabinets. The stone is called by many names - supreme white, white princess, white fantasy - but asking for white quartzite and sharing some of the names got me the stuff I wanted. Note - I still went to look at the slabs even if the photos were a little off - often they look lighter and whiter in person. Comments (22)Hi Linelle, I am so happy that you made a choice and I am glad you are happy with your Cloud White choice which is what I would choose. I never knew the pain could be so bad from losing my little Furson. I loved him so much and I was shocked to find I could not revive him. His seizures had been getting worse and the increase in the medicine was too much for him. I never should have left him alone in the kitchen without carrying him to the other room to put on his bed. I was not ready to lose him. I was only gone about 4 - 5 minutes and I had not left him alone in the past few weeks in any room but my gated home office where he was safer. I miss his little kisses and how bonded were were. He had not been able to play fetch for awhile. The other little dogs miss him so much. When another one of mine passes, I plan to adopt a little kitten or cat that likes little dogs. He was the oldest and was an only furchild for a few years. I had planned to write a post but the crying has been terrible and the guilt of leaving him alone when I knew he kept fainting. He just seemed more well that morning and instead of going to the puppy pad, he was waiting by the patio door for me to let him out to go do his "big boy potty" for a "big boy potty treat". Comments (8)Rosie (cimmaron), I have looked up the descriptions of Epiphyllum and Hylocereus in 'The Cactus Family' (Anderson 2001). Epiphyllum always has the stem tips flat; the floral tube is long, curved and very thin. Hylocereus has 3-angled stems (though I think they can throw some with 2 or 4 angles); the floral tube is relatively short and thick, almost absent in some species judging from the illustrations. So I would say Jancc's plants look more like Hylocereus. H. undatus in my experience will grow up trees or brick walls clinging by its roots like ivy, sometimes to heights of over 10 m. I don't think epiphyllums do anythging like that. Where I have seen E. oxypetalum it makes a multi-stemmed shrub about 1.5 m high, though maybe it can get a bit taller. As for 'epiphyllum hybrids', it's interesting to note what Anderson has to say: "One encounters numerous so-called epiphyllum hybrids, which in fact rarely involve species of Epiphyllum as a parent. Rather, these magnificent plants, bearing shimmering, iridescent flowers, are mostly hybrids of related genera such as Disocactus, Pseudorhipsalis, and Selenicereus."...See MoreYes - another post on Marble! Comments (13)I cook in my kitchen, my teen and his girlfriend cook in my kitchen. They actually left the first circular etches from pancake making the other day. I'd guess it was buttermilk. I do have two wood counter tops too. But we all use the perimeter counters, which are the marble. There was a tiny "chip" out of the counter when it was installed. But I expect this could and would happen. I love looking across to my kitchen and seeing the veining, not this big white horizontal surface that you get from quartz. There are "puddles" of color, there is veining and swirls and there are little flecks of sparkle here and there. I tried to find a quartz or even granite that would change my mind...and it came down to, there was NOTHING but the real deal for me. Good luck finding what "sings" to you....See Morechocolatebunny
