The color looks a little different in each photo, but I like them all. You can definitely carry off a saturated color with your new white mouldings/trim. How does it look IRL with your fabric?

I know that I need to take better photos in general! I guess I'm a bit lazy in taking them with my phone but it's the easiest way I know to upload photos. So, the color kind of changes and looks different in different lights. Sometimes, it looks more red, other times, it looks kind of like copper, and other times it looks brownish. I kind of like that aspect of it. hmmmm, my DH thinks I'm a bit nuts in how I'm running around and making all these changes. It was actually fairly quick to get the paint up bc there isn't too much wall to actually paint. The tape took just as long to get up as the paint. This paint had really great coverage. I didn't prime over the teal, and honestly even after one coat, I debated whether I even needed a 2d coat, but did one anyway bc it was so quick to do.
Anyway, my 4 year old's comment had me wondering if I didn't go red enough. In the past, I've made the mistake of not going bold enough and trying to split the difference between bold and safe, and then hating the color. Even the teal in our previous dining room I may have liked if I had gone darker and more saturated. Who knows. At the same time, I wasn't really going for a red dining room either.

I love it! I just painted my kitchen a color very similar . I think it is striking next to your white woodwork. Makes the room look very warm which is what I like.

It's a great color and I think once your drapes are up in the fabric you have chosen - you will be very pleased with your wall color. It does go really well with the fireplace tile!

I looks like you pulled the color directly from your fabric sample and personally, I think that is the way to go - stay in the same tones and color intensity of your largest patterned fabric in the room.

Here is a wider shot with the room with the paint, now that I took the tape off. I need to replace the 3 framed menus above the fireplace bc the teal mats don't go with the room. I haven't decided if I should put them back up with white mats or go with something else. I was thinking of may be a circular shaped mirror above the fireplace to tie in the fireplace in the great room.

Can you tell me where you got that great light fixture/ chandelier over your table, and the manufacturer if you recall it? It's exactly what I have in mind for the dining room in our new home.

Thanks acomom. The light fixture is from Justice Design Lighting and it's part of their Limoges Collection. You can mix and match the type and shape of the shades. Our is the 6 light crossbar. I really like the look of the chandelier but just be aware that it doesn't give off a ton of light despite having 6 bulbs. The shades are made of a thick porcelein and don't diffuse light very well. After we put up the light, we had the electrician come back and add the 4 recessed lights in the dining room.

I like it. It plays nicely with your yellow onyx fire-surround. I also think you COULD go with a redder color...as long as it was a warm red, not a cool red. Do YOU like the color as it is? Or did your child's comment trigger something in you that you hadn't recognized?

If you like it--leave it as is. Live with it a week or three and then see if you still want to change it. It's a small area to repaint.

If you find yourself YEARNING for the red now--repaint.(Myself, if I was reasonably pleased with it/didn't hate it, I'd leave it until after the holidays.)

Beautiful. I love the colour with your fireplace. Now the fireplace looks like it belongs and it should because the onyx is gorgeous. Your lampshades on the chandelier look like the have the same colours as your fireplace and walls - although the sun could be playing havoc with the colours. The whole room looks so much nicer and put together.

I am late to add my humble opinion, but I think the paint choice is perfect. It is like the color of the leaf in the curtain. It kind of grounds the curtain, whereas I think a more reddish color would fight with the yellow.

I love it! I hope you're hosting Thanksgiving --what a perfect backdrop for giving thanks!
