risk on a baby grand piano?

We live in a very rural area. There is a very small consignment auction here, which usually sells knick-knacks and remnants from estate sales, mostly glassware, dishes and old tools.

This evening, for some reason, they have a kawai baby grand piano to auction. There is no piano technician anywhere nearby to ask to come check it out for us - so although the auction company claims it is in good condition, who knows.

It's conceivable that it may sell for a ridiculously low price here. Looking on craigslist, used kawai pianos go around 5K-10K ish. This one is walnut, not black.

My daughter is 7 and has both an strong interest in, and some skill at playing piano. Unfortunately, all we have for her to play here at home is an electric keyboard with weighted keys.

We are going to the auction company early this afternoon to find info on the age and model of the piano, to let her play it and see how it sounds, plus to measure it and come back and check to see if we can fit it into our dining room.

Any advice on things to check when we go preview it in an hour or so would be much appreciated!
