Comments (13)Didn’t realize that the blinds were old and damaged; they look good in the photo. I don’t think one Roman shade is the best idea for a slider because if it down you can’t use the door. On my slider, which is 12’ wide, I spend the money on a Hunter Douglas accordion shade (black out because it is in the bedroom) and opens in the middle. The stack back on each side is about 7” at the most. It has a track cover and could easily be covered by a valance and them have a stationary panel on each side, covering the stack back ( panel of 54” wide finished edge would be enough for each side). Move over to the window…do the same valance, hung at the same height, You can decide which makes the most $ sense…having a rod under the valance with two panels, each wide enough draw for privacy, or having a duette pulled up under the valance and two stationary panels on either side....See Moreadvise re roller blinds for sliding patio door
Comments (3)It will have a casing - I am actually asking the drywall we if they can do a clean flush install so there are no casings for these windows and patio door on the main floor - but assuming that’s tricky we’ll have flat casing 1.5-2” wide with 7” flat baseboards...See MoreBlinds between glass sliding door - do they get cold?
Comments (11)I am NOT a fan of any blind trapped between glass. I am not a fan of blinds in general. Hard, cold appearing, and needing another treatment to look "finished". Yanked up to expose all glass? A fairly hideous"stack" You have a norther exposure. There will never be direct sunlight from the north. There will however, be light. Sliding doors exist in ALL climates. Even those with a 40 degree below ZERO F. temperature plunge. I would invest in quality. Also look at the MANY lovely options available to treat sliding doors interiors in an attractive way, whether for privacy, or light control. A good sliding door is no more lacking insulating qualities than any other quality window , properly installed. I would not opt for the "tapped " option.. jmho As to which brand? You generally get what you pay for, in any material, and in any thing. Doors and windows included....See MoreFL Person
