I love the angled ones - more pots to the bar! If you hang your pots sideways, you can squish more pots on.

If you hang your pots on straight ones, you are putting them up by width and that takes more room. A 10" fry pan takes 10" to hang with a straight hook and only 2 or 3" with an angled hook

A twin lets you have pots on the inside and on the outside of the same straight hook - ok if you have a lot of pots and you're willing to fish the interior ones out.

The BUT in angled hooks is you need more clear depth - that big ol' 14" frypan is gonna need the bar to be about 8 inches from the wall. And it will stick out from the bar about 7 inches.

Thanks bmorepanic - we actually did plan on having enough depth to the bar (8" to the wall), because I guess I always thought the pots hung perpendicular to the bar, not parallel. We're putting the pot rack in to maximize storage, so I think we definitely don't want straight in that case!

I recommend the type that are a closed circle with hook, so that you can't knock them off by mistake when you one-handedly aim a heavy pot at a hook. I love mine, by Rogar.
