I am going with a similar look and am doing a carrara & nero marble basketweave faux rug for the floor. I will probably have darker bardiglio tiles around the edges of the room and there will be a cararra twisted rope border (and nero liner tiles on each side of the rope) to delineate the "rug". This way, the pattern does not overwhelm the room and it is a very pretty look in and of itself. I wish I had a mock up of it because even dh has not seen what I chose (other than the basketweave middle), lol. Oh... and am using dark gray grout because white would be just plain suicidal in our house. Maybe Bill V has done similar and has a pic?

Just had 12x24 solid white polished Thassos marble installed on shower walls. There is alot of info on sealing this marble and grout and wanted to get feedback on what others have found works. Also, my bad decision was selecting warm grey grout color as it is too dark. Was going for less contrast and a more allover white look. Has anyone had success with changing the grout color using one of the products for this purpose?

I already ordered the floor and I was thinking of marble for counter. Do I do white for vanity but was hoping for wood but I don't know what color- lighter? same as floor?

A soft white, as Calacatta has warm tones in it. But you can use any color--I have Dove White on the trim and Gray Cloud on the ceiling and walls, and it looks beautiful. You need to try colors out in the space to see what works with your lighting.
