Hey, RMKitchen, I saw in another post all about your pure white kitchen. But I can't seem to find pictures of your kitchen anywhere, even on the FKB. Do you have any? We have an all white kitchen that I will be mildly updating over the next year or so (before I can really update it), and I love to see pics of bright white kitchens to see color choices, countertops, pulls, etc. I do like this white kitchen, but it needs a little decorating and maybe a new island for contrast.

Hi Annetta;

We are this close to being done (except for window coverings) -- I can taste it! Then I'll post Finished Kitchen photos and hopefully kind starpooh will include us in her blog.

But in this post there are some photos of our kitchen.

We have white perimeter cabinets with marble (Calacatta Extra) countertops and backsplash, a soft black (BM Onyx) island with maple butcherblock island, a sheer grey-blue (or blue-grey) paint (BM Pearl River) for the walls and ceiling (a 50% formulation for the ceiling) and (Restoration Hardware) polished nickel / glass hardware. (glass knobs on the doors and polished nickel bin pulls and appliance pulls)

Most likely the former, as we have the kiwi green tot chair and "control tower" (my older child's perch for helping cook / bake), and souleiado fabrics on the chair cushions.

LOL... turns out, I HAD seen it, then! I had already put a few of those pics in my favorites! I didn't make the connection it was yours, and I thought I had searched sufficiently! Okay, still love your kitchen, then! Good luck with the finishing touches!!

So I had heard from a few that my sartorial style reminded them of Iris Apfel -- hmm, didn't know about her. Always loved Millicent Rogers, natch, and Dame Edna (who borrows from Iris, I believe), but my favorite style is mine, of course! (wink wink) Then I heard about the Met show, Rare Bird (of Fashion): The Irreverent Iris Apfel. I went, could *totally* see the connection, and bought the book. It is worth a gander! I live in the land of leggings and fleece vests -- having that book in my home reminds me "I am not alone!" Her husband started Old World Weavers, a textile business. She was able to have outfits (inc. matching shoes) made from their fabrics. She also had (has) a great eye for ethnic jewelry, so would put together interesting juxtapositions. Was it the Testy Tastemaker who wrote that having bowls filled with ethnic necklaces was tacky? Can't remember, but I have gobs of amber necklaces in a bowl and I think it is charming. Seeing Iris' silly pieces perched on her silly dog struck such a note of whimsy, such personality. Loved it. chijim -- thank you for uplodading / sharing these pictures!

So sorry for the delay! My son's rock climbing teacher is totally gorgeous (and fifteen years my junior) and I was showing off for him ... I probably remind him of his mother, and I think I'm flirting with him. Anyway, so with my showing off I totally overdid it and have been d-r-a-g-g-i-n-g ever since. i think the leather stool is fine and agree with the others.. personally I like the fact that the stools blend in a bit.. i dont think a bar stool needs to be a part of adding any wow factor.. the counter, backsplash, cabinets, flooring, lighting do that.. how would you feel if people came in the kitchen and all the said was "wow.. nice bar stools" :-)

jesemy -- yes they can. They're William Morris through Sanderson Fabrics. I am addicted to that website -- the choices are endless (and divine).
