I commented on this thread a while back when I was trying to decide between the silgranite white or a darker color. I really wanted white because I thought it'd be prettier but I was afraid of the potential staining problems. Well I went for it and got the silgranite super single sink in white from home depot online. Even though the pictures don't show it, I bought the matching grate as well. I think the grate is a good investment as it protects both the sink and your dishes if you happen to drop them. It's been about 7 months now and I'm still so happy with my choice. I haven't had any problems with staining. I am careful with it as I would be with any item that cost me $300+ but I don't feel it's extreme. I always rinse out the sink after I use it and do at least a weekly clean with a liquid soft scrub unless I've done a lot of cooking. I have a bunch of microfiber cloths I got from Amazon that I use to wipe off any water spray on the counters' edge by the sink. I am meticulous about this because I have very hard water. Overall I love this sink. It's functional and beautiful.

I know I have seen limited stainless sink option that can be undermounted with laminate. Don't have one, so I can't help you with specifics -- but it is an option. Search here or google. Are you sure a farmhouse style is not an option? It seems like it would require more care and finishing effort, but be a possibility, especially if you set the sink up over the edge of the counter just a tad. And edge seam would then be below the edge of the sink. For a drop-in, I would not put a white sink on top of a black counter withthe possibly exception of a highly stylized blak and white kitchen - in which case I probably wouldn't want a drop-in sink. If you do a drop-in, go with black.

kitchendreaming, there have been threads on this - I started one about hearing the "white silgranit looks plastic-y" - you can search that thread, as initially I wanted the white one too. I believe the overall consensus was it will be ok if it is really the one you want - you can scrub it - (I think at least a couple folks on here have one), but if any will show anything, the white one would - as white anything of course would show crud, stains, etc. more than a color would. Make sure you see them in person. I wasn't into brown at the start, but now I think that one will probably work best in my case - good luck, and I'm sure we will love our sinks!

Pfmastin - Thank you so much, and no begging necessary! My advice is to go to your local Home Depot or sink/faucet store and see the biscuit colour in person, and bring a sample of your Formica. So as not to take over this post, here is one close-up photo of our Bianco Antico granite and a link to more photos. Redroze's Granite Install Christen7 - I l-o-v-e the single bowl sink, but I don't know if I would have done it without a prep sink in the island which we have. I don't have a disposal (in Canada we have a "green bin" program for food waste). That golden caramel is wonderful!!! I agree, I think the brown silgranit sink would look great with it and you won't have to worry about matching the tones BUT I have a weird feeling biscuit will look good too.
