pull-down vs. pull-out faucet
Comments (46)Do you have a friend who has a pull-down that you might be able to try? Will that sprayer stay on spray or do you have to keep the handle pressed down? I always had a side spray before but now that I have a pull-down I don't ever want to be without one! I defrosted some shrimp tonight and it was so nice to be able to pull the faucet head down close to my colander, set it to spray and walk away for a few minutes. The pull-down is nicely balanced so that it stays at whatever height I put it. It's so much more convenient to quickly pull it down and be able to reach every corner of my sink when I wash it. Mine goes back up into place very easily and securely, no twisting or fiddling with it required....See Morekitchen faucet.....pull down or pull out sprayer?
Comments (19)Just thought I'd throw my 2 cents in here---As a plumber, I've noticed that both Moen and Delta are going to the nylon hose. Is it better? They haven't been around long enough to determine that. Only time will tell... The pull out seems to be more popular than the pull down, mainly I think because the pull out faucets are cheaper that the pull down. However, the prices are coming down on the pull downs...Moen just came out with a new model, the Arbor, that is priced comparable to the pull outs. I personally like the looks of the pull downs better.--The Captain...See MoreOpinions on faucet pull down, pull out or side spray
Comments (16)I like a pulldown. Sidespray is too fiddly and pullouts aren't as massive, meaning I don't get the spout length my shortness requires. :) I have a Kohler Simplice right now as a temporary faucet. It's okay but the spray button doesn't work right. I shoulda exchanged it but I was lazy--Kohler makes a good faucet and I just got a dud. Previously I had a huuuuge Hansgrohe Allegro Pro, selected purely by size (I was having back issues with the faucet spout length in my unremodeled kitchen). It looked like an alien space craft from the original War of the Worlds movie. Great faucet BUT! Like others, I found that the HG spray button wasn't a simple on/off mechanism. You could turn it on, you could turn it off, but if you turned off the water, it would revert to stream. Not a big deal unless you are a Tapmaster user trying to conserve water while washing veggies with the sprayer. I'll probably get another one when I remodel anyway. :) So whatever you get, make sure the spray/stream mechanism works the way you want. What we think is an obvious function may not have occurred to the faucet designers. (The Simplice--if the button acts like it should--is the way it should be. On or off, until you change it.)...See MorePull Down Faucets vs. Articulating Faucets
Comments (2)I wish more people had weighed in on this question because it's time to pick out faucets. My husband likes the idea that it will stay where you put it, vs a pulldown faucet that you have to keep holding onto to point it where you want it to go. The cost has me shaking my head and thinking it isn't worth vs a regular pulldown....See Morefriedajune
