full height obstacle / clean-up zone

Hello everyone,

I am currently designing a home for myself and my partner, and, of course, that includes a kitchen! I'm still trying out various permutations of the kitchen, but something I am sure I want is a clean-up zone that is isolated from the actual cooking areas of the kitchen.

I understand why normally you don't want to have full height obstacles blocking two major areas of a kitchen, but does this rule still apply to the clean-up sink, IF you have a prep sink also?

For example, with a common design like a main sink and a stove on each leg of an L, with a prep sink in an island facing the stove, would it affect the layout to put a pantry in the corner of the L?

It seems to me that two sinks with an isolated clean-up zone is the only situation where breaking this rule doesn't affect function of the kitchen, and potentially could even enhance it if done correctly. Am I missing some serious drawbacks?

Thanks for any input!
