Pro Kitchen Faucets. HELP!

I'm very happy to discover this informative site because we just bought our first house and there is sooo much to learn about renovations!

Right now I'm choosing a new kitchen faucet in Pro/Semi-Pro style. And as much as I would love to have a KWC Faucet I cannot afford it today.

My main requirement is quality, so I'm not interested in "made in China" products.

I keep my eyes open for ebay/discounts on Hansgrohe, Franke (are Franke faucets good? can somebody comment on them?).

After reading faucets ratings site recommended here I was seriously considering Blanco faucets. Now I'm confused because Faucets ratings site recommended them as German made although I came across "made in Italy" Blanco faucets. Any comments on that?? Where are they made?

I also tried to find any information here and couldn't on Cucina or Westbrass or Cascade faucets. Does anybody willing to share experience?

Or any other brands that I haven't mentioned in the price range below $600.

what does that even mean? i've never heard of a faucet referred to as 'pro'.

I think the OP means pre-rinse faucets? (Since there was mention of KWC)

I can share that Franke is an excellent brand (my pot filler and sink are both franke) but i'd be suprised to see you find a franke pre-rinse faucet for less than a KWC...they're normally pretty close in price.

You know I am a fan of the wall mount! Had three in last kitchen and will have 4 in this kitchen. Definitely make sure you get a faucet spout long enough for your comfort so you don't have to bend. I think a 10-11" reach is good. The faucets usually have escutcheons that make the faucet project out a bit more. Chicago Faucets do have jointed spouts that can be extended and seem very convenient. They are affordable, too. The wall mounts are often very expensive. I always have used Kingston Brass and think the quality is very very good. No problems and you can call customer service and get information from them very easily! I don't know if you are going with an RO filter, but I was sad to find out there are no RO wall mounted faucets. Well, not that I could find. Again, bathtubs and pot fillers have wall plumbing. Not a big deal. With the help of this forum, I am narrowing down my sink choice to the Blanco precision line, although I am wavering between the silgranite and stainless super size single sink options. While I welcome any additional advice about that decision, I am especially seeking help on my faucet choice. I love the look (and presumed functionality) of the Bailey's Crane tap but I can't locate a supplier in the US (where I live) nor even an on line review. I like the Blanco Rados pro very much as well (157-093-CR). If anyone has one of these faucets or has considered them, I would appreciate your review and feedback.

We used a Tornado II by Zephyr. It's an insert that we built a hood around to fit my situation. I saved quite a bit of money by buying my insert directly from an ebay dealer that I bought almost all of my appliances from. (saving-u-money) is his eBay handle. I can provide more info if you want to compare prices. Here's a photo of my hood. Though not completed, you can see how a liner works. You can also download a PDF info from Zephyr that will give you a drawing, schematic, and other info that will show you exactly what you will need to do this. I love my hood. The photo online shows that they've redesigned it a bit. Mine actually looks like the Tornado III, but I know it was a II with 1,000 CFM. FWIW, I love my hood. It's a powerhouse and doesn't blow you out of the water. It's a solid whooshing sound, not whiney and tinney. My brother lives next door about 300' away. (We both have 1.5 acres.) He has called me before to ask, "When's dinner?" because he can smell what I'm cooking. My kitchen vent is away from his house, too. When I've told him that I'm not grilling and I'm cooking inside and not outside, he can't believe it. It has to be this powerful hood. Here is a link that might be useful: Tornado II

I ended up here, because I'm redoing my kitchen and trying to make a decision about the faucet. I have various faucets throughout my house from Kohler, Moen, Restoration Hardware, and Newport Brass. I think the Restoration Hardware fixtures are made by Newport Brass, because we had to call them when we needed to replace. We've had them from 10-12 years, so I don't know the styles or even if they are made. Almost all are polished nickel, and the Kohler and Moen are always spotless, laundry room and bathroom, respectively. I'm not crazy about the pull down sprayer on the Kohler. The Moen Showcase (do they still make this line?) is in the bathroom, and I love it so much, because I can just pour water over it and it will dry spotless. It's amazing. It is wall mount, and I wish I had it in every bathroom. Because of my success with Moen, when I needed a faucet for my kitchen, I bought an inexpensive (relative to all the other faucets I have) Moen at Home Depot. It is the only non polished nickel faucet I have. It is stainless steel, still looks brand new (10 years+), and the pull down sprayer works wonderfully. Unfortunately, I'd never buy fixtures from Restoration Hardware again. They spot like crazy. The Newport Brass are slightly better, but they also spot. I'm looking at Kohler and Moen for my new kitchen, but the choices are limited in polished nickel. Now I'll look at California Faucets, too, but I'll skip Rohl, since someone mentioned the polished nickel spots so much.

Looks like it means a faucet of a style and quality that one might find in a kitchen used by a "pro"-fessional chef. I've included a link to a Blanco that is referred to as "semi-pro", which I take to mean a level just a tad short of "pro".

lulu, my faucet is a Blanco. I don't know where it was made, but I've been very happy with it. I had an occasion right after it was installed to need their customer service, and they came through like a champ. I recommend them highly. Mine is the Master Gourmet, which I got a great deal on as part of buying a display in a store.

I got a KWC faucet from an ebay seller for $250.00.

Brand new, installation insructions included, professionally packaged and shipped the next day. The sellers name was Shermshop.

god, i'm sorry if this comes across as snarky, but that is just so incredibly stupid.

yet another example of how marketers use words to the point where they become meaningless.

Thank you revans for clarification: Pro does mean "chef-kitchen/professional kind". Sorry, I was trying to save on typing (although that's how they are referred in numerous sources).
And thank you for great Blanco review!

neesie , your recommended ebay seller has great KWC Tristar K.10.Z2.64.000C38 that is almost what I'm looking for: I just need single handle type.

You might look at Chicago Faucets...Here's a single handle control which accepts a variety of different spouts.

Mico or Justyna has faucets made in Europe, very good quality, very heavy, probably in the $400 plus range, but you my get a deal on e bay. Still not sure what "pro style" faucet means so I don't know if they have your styles.
