Almost complete walnut kitchen

. I think I may have posted my first pics in the wrong place...Is images a different place? I knew it looked different. Anyway, here is my (almost) finished kitchen. It could still use a backsplash and some decorative touches if any of you have any ideas:) I appreciate all of you advice. Thanks so much! I wish I had found this forum sooner, that is for sure! It is not perfect and not exactly what I had first imagined or asked for, but I love it nonetheless :)

oh, but it's lovely! that walnut is awesome in cabinets. you also have a lot of counter space. You didn't post a before pic but I expect you have a lot more of it now than before.

The problem with a really brown shade is that it will dull down the appearance of your wood countertops. The counters read as red-gold. The highest contrast to that would be a blue green. A more yellow green would pick up the gold and be a softer contrast. A more blue tone, like a spruce or a deep blue-gray, could be very soothing. If you want to stay with warmer colors, try going for a good value contrast (i.e., light vs. dark). A reddish beige tone, for instance. All of these tones are in your backsplash tiles (I'm assuming you were showing us the mosaic, not the hidden subway tiles). The best way to choose paint is to get samples of all the different colors you think you could like, paint large patches of each on different walls, and see how they look in different lights. Daylight, shaddow, rainy light, electric light, etc. Some which look fabulous in one light look dreary in another. One, at least, should look good whenever you catch sight of it.

Our Kitchen is almost complete! We have minor details on some pantry doors to finish but so excited that this project is finally done!!!!! We had old soffits that were removed that really opened everything up for us! My spacious island is great for entertaining!!

It is really lovely and I love the way the floor tone complements and contrasts the cabinet tone. What brand cabinets did you get and what stain?
I am also thinking of walnut and am looking a Plain and Fancy natural walnut but my husband thinks we should go a bit darker.

gorgeous!! your cabinets are stunning. you could do almost anything with the backsplash. a pop of color would be lovely.

Wow, I love the cabinets, the color of them and how they tie so beautifully with your flooring! You did a marvelous job putting everything together.

Don't have any back splash advice, but looking at what you have done, I'm sure it will be well done.

Thanks so much everyone. It is not big or fancy like some kitchens on here but we were on a strict budget with this build and still managed to go over budget...sigh;) I should have said that this is a new build. We just moved in recently.
We bought the lumber for those cabinets and stacked and air dried it ourselves to save money. When I tell people that, they look at me like I am crazy ;) We then took it to a solar kiln to finish it up. We saved quite a bit of money doing it that way, but it took patience and time.
localeater, The cabinets were quite the experience;) Do a search of my name and you will see why. lol We had the cabinets custom built. They are natural with only poly, no stain. At first I was dissapointed because they were not what I expected, but all in all I am happy now. The floors are white oak with only poly also.
