Show me your fancy toekicks

I like the look of a "leg" in the toekick to make a base cabinet more furniture-like. I need to let my cabinetmaker know the style for mine. I looked around but couldn't find a place that showed various versions of these. I'd love to see some photos of this detail from the beautiful GW kitchens. Thanks!

Jessica, be careful..... Since I don't have a collection of anything, except maybe dust bunnies, I took a picture of Ashley's collection. She and her sister have been collecting Christmas themed snowglobes for several years. Amanda took hers, but she sends them back to reside in my basement every year. These are Ashley's. This is the first one she got, and her favorite. If you look closely you can see an FAO Schwartz globe that she got on a trip to Chicago and some 101 Dalmations globes that came with McDonald's Happy Meals some years ago, so she has a little bit of everything. Amanda found out that they aren't invincible, though. She had a globe with Winnie the Pooh dressed as a snowman and Pooh would spin in the globe when it was wound. Makayla loved it and wanted it wound all the time, until a couple of weeks ago when Makayla dropped it on the floor and broke it to pieces. :-( I was so sympathetic. Show me your Toe-Kick Heat/AC Vent!

Ours is the traditional metal vent. My cabinetmaker talked about routing out a wood vent - but would have entailed using baseboard for the toe kick instead of the typical thin plywood - so we passed. We did not run the sheet metal from the floor to the front of the toe kick - the entire cabinet base acts as the vent - so fars works well. We sealed the underside of the cabinet and calked aroung the base before applying the shoe molding. Here is a link that might be useful:

Wow, Fun, that is fantastically cute!! My niece took me out for a belated birthday lunch today at a restaurant I knew about but neither of us had been. Everything's organic. We had burgers - grass fed beef with some chili pepper flakes worked into it. Just enough to give it a little kick. It was topped with mozzarella and chopped spinach with a light dressing of lemon and garlic. It was really good and even better was how very nice all the people were there. We are all connected by the farmers they buy their ingredients from are the farmers that sell at our Farmers Market!! They have an extensive menu for such a small place and I will definitely go back.

The Bird is doing well with his favorite toy. He cuddles with it. Pointsettia growing in the neighborhood, so fancy. Blooming now. The bush looks scraggly, maybe lack of water this drought summer.

Ours aren't legs, but a nice toe kick. I love Marybeth's feet. Very cute. i just bought a media piece with those kind of legs.

Marybeth, I have feet similar to yours that I am going to use on my island/peninsula/thingee, and it is good to see how pretty they look on your cabinets. I like how nice and open your kitchen is; it looks really spacious.

I'm actually doing both types of "legs" in my new kitchen. My cooktop cabinet is going to have turned legs similar to marybeth's, and the rest of the kitchen will have a bracket like toekick similar to kelleg's. So, thank you to both for sharing pictures of your beautiful kitchens! I was a little stumped because my cabinetmaker mentioned that he'd like to put a shoe on the base of the brackets, in order to compensate for a less-than-perfect floor. We did finally come up with something that I think will look very nice. I'll post a photo once they're in. Thanks again!

Cabinets are in! Just not painted yet. Here's a photo of the bracket toekick that we came up with. He had to add that little shoe piece to it, because my floor is not quite level and it helped with the cabinet installation.
