Mollie, The sink is a 30" Kohler Memoirs. It's actually the top piece of a 2-piece pedestal, but it works just as well the way I installed this one. Since it's a pedestal top, the bases of these sinks can be slightly warped, so it may not sit perfectly flat on a flat countertop. Some may need a bit of modification to the countertop to compensate for the warp, or just shim it and the shims will disappear when it's set on the countertop and siliconed in place. It doesn't protrude too far into the cabinet below, but still, to maximize storage, I made the drawer under the sink in a "U" shape. The cutout of the "U" houses the sink and the drain tailpiece. It's a nice sink. Large bowl, and I love the wide flat rim around the bowl. Tom, I built the cabinet boxes and set them on a platform framed of, if I remember correctly, 2x6s set on edge. The front of the 2x6 platform was held back about 9 or 10 inches from the front of the cabinets. So the "hole" behind the toe kick is about 9" deep. I painted the face of the 2x6 platform black to hide it. Our bath floor is wood, it gets a once-over periodically with, maybe once a week or so with one of those little swivel-headed sweepers on a handle. If it were full-depth I could see dust bunnies accumulating back there, but no, with it being partial depth the sweeper can get in there and gather whatever has collected. But still, it's not any dustier than the other non-traveled areas of the floor, like the floor at an inside wall corner that gets no foot traffic. Mongo

He is so used to seeing me put tiles on the floor that he just pretends I am not looking at tiles again. :) I agree that going with a big company that will stand behind their installation may be good for me. I guess after writing the long post in the link below about tile size and my results of the Lowe's visit, any of the decisions will not be bad and I want to decide what to do by tomorrow so I can hire an installer and get this job done already. I also would love it if I found someone that was good at using the Epoxy grout since to not have the grout sealed for 1 week may not be that great if my little Skeeter misses the puppy pad that I keep in the middle foyer for him in case I am busy and do not have time to take him outside in the backyard. Thank you jeannienpc99, dilly_dally, and lyfia for responding. I had a long seminar yesterday (I take seminars for knowledge in my profession and to keep my license since I need 120 Continuing Professional Education Credits every 3 years) so I was so tired when I wrote the post last night. I have a home office and have tax and business clients who come to me for my expertise. A few of many clients have become friends from knowing them for so many years. One client is the age my father was when he died last year. This client is retired and lives very close to me and keeps asking me if I need help since he likes to keep himself busy and helps anyone that needs help which makes him feel good. A few months ago, I had told him I was going to Lowes's to get the tiles I decided on. He told me he would go with me since amazingly he is very strong and he would help me get the tiles in the car and into my home. That is when someone came up to us with that extra coupon that they did not need and we used both which was the mistake since then I would have the lighter lot number still here. The other client I withdraw from the engagement since he needed really a full-time bookkeeper as well as a CPA for his two corporations that was more work than I had time for since his other two corporations are out of state. He promised to buy me tiles and get them installed if I helped out with a sales tax audit despite my resigning. I decided to stay on as a consultant since the new accountant needed my help. The tile guy he had come here (that tiles a few of his buildings he owns) that does great work seems to be much to busy for me and despite buying the tiles myself is still not showing up so I just want to find someone to pay myself to get the job done. I did not realize until yesterday that the new lot I bought (7 boxes of Rialto Beige Tiles to have extra in case needed due to wanting the tiles on the diagonal and also having a closet to put the tiles in) was a darker color. I can live with the darker color but I prefer the lighter color of the Rialto Beige Tiles but I have no idea what lot number the lighter color is. I need to do the tiles first before I can remove this rug to do the hardwood floors. My busy season is coming up and I am starting to get busy with special projects and a new estate project that was just dropped off. Some of my clients have been with me over 18 years and have become friends. Most of my clients only have a professional relationship with me, mailing me their work, or dropping it off and the relationship is 100% business. Thank you for your time. It does look great, just a little more subtle than Asian Tiger. So glad you like it. countrygal 905 - Marmoleum is made from natural raw materials while vinyl is chemical based. Marmoleum is a good choice for a number of reasons, especially if you prefer natural products. Think of buying your flooring at the grocery store as opposed to the gas station.
