Pretty Please, help me find sink grids for this sink..

Hi-

When I was building my house we were given an option for a few sinks from the builders plumbing vendor.. We didn't want to spend a ton on sinks (although now I REALLY wish we had), My DH insisted on a double sink- why??? I have no clue, but he was so good at letting me pick almost everything else w/o batting an eye I figured I should at least let him have the sink..

This is the sink we chose (there were few options in our allowance).

Dimensions are: 31 1/2" x 21"

LB depth is 9"

RB depth is 5 1/2"

IT is a PROFLO Double bowl sink PFUO903- I HATE It, since while the larger side is wonderful and can fit EVERY pot/pan/cookie sheet I own, the smaller side is ridiculously small and fits nothing other than food scraps- it has become our prep sink--since we don't have one.

That is neither her nor there.. back to the topic.. I have searched for a sink grid for this sink- called the plumbing store, contacing PROFLO directly.. emails keep coming back to me from PROFLO and the number gets me nowhere-The plumbing store does not know where to get the sink grids.

So I am asking you with all of your vast knowledge of everything, do any of you happen to know where I might find sink grids that would fit this sink??

Good luck with finding your sink grid. I would imagine you are going to have to find a generic grate. I would measure the inside dimensions and see what you can find from there.
In the different strokes category...this is really similar dimension to my current sink and I am bummed out that I can not get the same type of sink in the Silgranit. To me it is the best of both worlds. Food scraps is all the small bowl is intended for.

You might also try the company Ira Woods. They carry a ton of things, but will also special order and search out items from other sources. I had great luck with them. Good luck!

Have you looked at the Ikea 25" farmhouse sink? Would one extra inch make this undoable? This sink would work great with a laminate counter--some friends of mine have the 36" farmhouse and laminate--because it's designed with a lip on each side. Hi roulie, If I google 32" stainless sink grid, lots of results given. "The Find" seems to have links to lots of different suppliers. I ordered it yesterday and it already shipped! I bought my sink from Overstock, Model # SS6503. Galaxy Tool Supply also has it, but they couldn't meet the price of the Overstock with coupon. rubyfig, I did look at their website, but I really didn't see what I needed. Sink-dish drainer? Help me choose a sink, please.

I have a 36 in sink base with a 60/40 double bowl SS undermount sink and I love it. I measured the sink bowls to find one that would fit a small dish drain but I find that the flat rack in the bottom is sufficient and I have never bothered with a drainer. I love the clean look of the counter with no dish drain on it and I like having the smaller sink to dry dishes or rinse something or wash dishes in during holidays. I ended up with the Kraus KBU24 and am very happy with the quality.

Must it be stainless steel? The BlancoDiamond Super Single in Silgranit fits the bill, except that it's not stainless. Though once you go to Silgranit, you won't go back to stainless steel (no water spots, scratching, dull film). It comes in a number of colors from white to anthracite (black) and lots in between, including a gray color which some people like who want the silver tone of stainless steel. Also, any way you can change your cabinet base size from 42"? If you get a sink for a 36" base, you are wasting the space by putting it in a 42" cabinet. If stainless steel is your choice, and you have the budget, you can get a custom stainless steel sink made to exactly what you want. Handcrafted Metal company will make your sink, with the drain location you want, exact size, shape, even how sharp or radiused you want the corners, and will do a 14 gauge, which is even thicker than what you are looking for. It doesn't matter if you are not close by; everything can be done by email and phone, They are less than Rachiele that Barbja99 mentioned, but still very expensive compared to a non-custom sink. If you are using the sink every day for years, and you really want stainless steel, it is worth it IMO.

Your best bet, I think, is to look at the Mr. Direct site and see if they have a sink that matches your sink's dimensions. They give detailed dimensions on their site. They sell their grids separately from their sinks, so if you find a match it's done. Low price, good grids.
