crown molding- to match cabs or not?

I had new cabinets installed and am having them painted a creamy off-white. The cabinets have crown molding. The kitchen is about 10 ft x 8 ft (galley kitchen with an added "L"-shaped extension). 8 ft ceilings. There is a neighboring dining area with crown molding currently white, which I'd like to keep. What are your thoughts-- should the crown molding on the cabs be painted the same color as the cabinets - or- should it be painted the same as the crown molding in the neighboring eating area? If I carry the cabinet color over to the dining's crown molding, where on earth do you stop? The dining area has a large opening (painted white) to the livingroom, which has white crown molding. I'm thinking the cabinet's molding should be the same as the cabinets, so as to not have off-white cabs, another white for the molding and yet another white for the ceiling. I'm confused! Anyone had this dilemma? Thoughts? Thanks much!
