Hello everyone and many thanks for the compliments. I'm starting to prepare to pull plants. I've got three plants of Cherokee Purple, 2 Red Brandywine, 1 Yellow Brandywine and one plant of variety 444 that are ready to be pulled up. By the end of the week, I'll probably add Champion, Viva Italia, Jet Star and others to that list. Early Goliath has set 6 more fruit within the past couple of weeks so that will be one variety that should be around for a while. figfarmer, as a rule, tomato plants are done in June where I live. Tomato plants will flower throughout the summer but they will not typically set fruit. The temperature and humidity stays consistently too high for any fruit production to take place. We would have to experiance an extended rainy/cloudy period during the summer for any kind of decent fruit to be produced. gardenmommy, I grow at three different locations but at home, I grow about 100. The numbers above are from 52 plants. Regarding dehybridizing, it all depends on your interest....getting into this area is really all about what your goals are. You need to be prepared to grow out a large number of plants and then select for traits that you observe to be desireable. This can take a few years to end up with a stabilized variety of choice. I'm attempting to dehybridize Big Boy. Regarding Brandywine and other late season varieties, I don't let the difficulty factor stop me from experiancing those varieties. In fact, I've had very good success with Brandywine....some years are great and some years are so-so. It looks like I will only harvest 10 fruit from Brandywine this year but that's okay with me. I've had one weigh just over a pound. It all depends on where you live in Texas. Texas is such a large state that it emcompasses many zones and can climatic conditions can vary widely. Emily, counting tomatoes on a variety such as Sungold can be quite the task (LOL). But really it's not that difficult. I only count when I harvest them and you would be surprised how quickly you can pick a hundred or so. By the way, I harvested 608 Mexico Midget at 9.1 pounds so far. Probably still have another 150 to 200 on this one.

We had about four different types of foam sealant. The DAP water-based stuff was the easiest to use overall because it didn't expand like it wanted to take over the world. But it does set up more slowly and it was the most likely to fall off the ceiling! I found that doing a little bit at a time helped. Big heavy wet globs don't stay put. Smaller ones do just because there's more surface tension, or something. The other brand was the "Great stuff" or something like that---the 'big gap' sticks well, I think because you just spray the normal amount but then it expands a LOT. I think it skins over as it's expanding so it sticks way better. It seems to set up or dry a lot faster than the DAP stuff. The one for windows & doors is about the same as the one for big gaps as far as sticking well and the rate of expansion. The thing I don't like about the ones that expand a lot is that it's really hard to gauge how much to apply. I usually overdo it and then have to trim off the excess after it's set up. I use a serrated bread knife to saw it off at the ceiling surface and this is tricky and tiring. But i'd rather spray more than less and not have to worry that I left any little gaps.

Thanks so much!!! I had no idea how much work would be involved with such a small bathroom! Yes it is very difficult to take pictures in a bathroom :) The magazine rack is for my husband, I don't ever want to see a stack of magazines on the back of the toilet again. It also limits the amount of magazines, before the ceiling was his goal. I think it is discreet in the inside corner. I will move the toilet brush to the other side, don't want anything dripping on his reading material - yuck! There is a matching toilet container to the toilet brush, I'm thinking of getting that, too. In Sarah Richardson's bathroom the toilet paper is on display and I didn't like that. The wallpaper is gorgeous, after my husband decided he wasn't going to wallpaper he begged me to just paint it. Glad I stuck to my guns, it is fabulous!! It has a sort of pearl sheen to it, you can also see some light pink. In the book I found it in, they had 6 different colors in this pattern, all very close in color but the sheen was different. It is in the Simply Silks book, pattern SK12814. I bought it at Lowe's, but I found it online too at American Blinds - Patton Wallcovering. The paint is grey with a little blue in it, by Valspar. It's called Restless Seas, SR205. Also at Lowe's. When I picked it out, they had 3 different types of light you could put it under to see what it would look like in your home. I knew what I had a fluorescent, and it really makes a difference - the types of light you have. Notice the toilet seat, it has a built in child's seat! My 3 year old can sit comfortably :) The sink is Essex Lavatory Metal Console, I love it! The toilet is a round Toto Dalton. I really like this toilet, fast and efficient! The tile is Lowe's again, Florim Slate Gray Ceramic Tile, item #14932. The toilet holder and towel bar are Asbury from Restoration Hardware. The notches in them match perfectly the faucet and handles' notches. I believe the faucet was called Zane, HD and discontinued (got it for a steal!!). The mirror is Chatham Mirror in polished chrome. I tended to some roses today, but that was the extent of my yard work. May squeeze some more in, but it's doubtful. Electrician looks to have another full day of work Monday. He found some interesting things in my walls that made it take more time. Plumber moved the gas line from previous gas dryer to new gas range (I've got to check the specs...looks high and looks like it sticks out quite a bit) and moved the one supply line for the washer over as needed. But...I think it's too tall. But that should be easy enough to cut down if needed. I emailed GC, plumber didn't fix sink plumbing yet. Supposed to get new angle stops etc. GC's wife called and said that's no biggie, it'll get done before cabinet install, or even after. I said since they're leaking, I'd prefer it was before. She didn't know they were leaking, so it will now be before. My big accomplishments for the day were nailing down almost all lighting issues, I think. I bought the recessed lighting things (I don't know what they are each called...the attach them in the ceiling part and the plug them into that part...but don't call it a bulb), a few dimmers, one receptacle with usb holes. I ordered a few more lighting/switches related things on Amazon and should be here Sunday. And I emailed and talked on the phone with Environmental Lighting and got a plan for my UCL. I'm sure I could have pieced together something less expensive, but I understand this and can install it myself, so that'll be a savings in itself. Also, I confirmed that I need one less outlet for the UCL installed, so that will save. I 'adjusted' a few things re: the electrician's work. The GC had drawn the outlets smack-dab in the middle of the backsplash. I had him move them down and over on either side of the range. I didn't ask the one in the middle of another wall to be moved, though it probably could be. I may end up asking about that if it wears on me this weekend. And I also asked him to install an outlet in the utility cabinet so I can charge my hand vac, Braava, etc. Tacos just arrived. :)
