Pot Filler as Main Faucet

We are renovating our kitchen and none of the faucets are appealing to me. Although I like the look of the commercial type faucets (Elkay, KWC), we are renovating an 1850's home and I don't think that look fits in with my kitchen. The faucets that do look like they belong in an older home look a little ornate for me. I am drawn to pot fillers. I like that they can swivel to both sides of the countertop and I like their look. Is there any reason why I cannot have a pot filler as my main faucet? Is the pressure the same? The salesperson says yes but I don't trust him. If I do go this route it won't save me money. I like the Franke pot filler which is over a grand.
