Microwave doesn't fit! Help!
Comments (9)I'm with lascatx. Stupid microwave makers need to get with the program and come up with some sort of standard. Nothing else in a kitchen varies so much in sizing. Yet they've become an important part of modern life so we have to work them in with a pleasing look. I've never been happy with where my micro ended up in my plan. I just KNEW that I would go to put it in the deep upper cabinet and it would still stick out too far because of the stupid giant plug. So, today, I said screw it. I moved the outlet to the base below (finishing rough wiring today) and just emailed my cabinet guy to ask him to make the change. I can't believe how much I was stressing over that thing. Wish I could get rid of it completely but I am sometimes a lazy eater and I couldn't give up my popcorn. Errmmm....sorry for the blathering....See MoreOver the range microwave that doesn't need to be vented to the outside
Comments (4)Our GE over the stove microwave can be used as an outside vent or inside vent. When you buy the microwave, check with the merchant....he can give you instructions about changing it over. Our son did it....just a matter of changing a few simple things. We do not have the trouble Pam P. has.....When we use the vent on the microwave, the steam, grease and etc. goes right into the filters on the bottom of the microwave and we have had no water drip down the front. I do know ours is hung at standard height over the stove but the other older microwave did not have any problems either. Sure saves counter space....See MoreSuck it all up and more
Comments (5)Check out Venmar by Broan or Broan recirculating hoods that have CFM's of 350 and higher. You will have ongoing cost of replacing the charcoal filters occasionally and they probably won't cost under $300 but they will work better than your OTR microwave....See MoreHelp with range hoods, pleas
Comments (4)We have had this for about a year and it works well for above the oven. Eventually we'll have the budget for an entire kitchen remodel (1980s suburban home). This replaced the original. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Whirlpool-30-in-Non-Vented-Range-Hood-in-Stainless-Steel-UXT4030ADS/205050036...See MoreUser
