cabinets_ help! omega brookhaven welbourne
Comments (3)Can't help with the comparison, but will put in a plug for Brookhaven. I have Brookhaven cabinets, style Colony in color Sierra on Maple. These were installed about 6 years ago (when we did our kitchen remodel with much help from this board) and they still look great and I love them. The finish is extremely durable and the "special" cabinets are great (corner pullout, pot drawers, file cabinet, spice cupboard, etc). I didn't like the "rubber" (probably plastic) strips inside that blocked the slight gap between 2 doors that met, and have pulled these strips off, but that's probably my only complaint. Imagine pictures of my kitchen have long since scrolled off the gallery. Good luck with your remodel!...See MoreBrookhaven or Embassy/Dynasty Cabinets?
Comments (5)I have Omega Dynasty/Embassy cabinets and I absolutely love them! I also picked a door style w/the furniture veneered flat center panels. Many people think the veneer is better for a flat panel door b/c they're less likely to warp than solid wood. Whether that's true or not, they look great! My door style is Anson...the flat paneled version of the Omega Dynasty Artesia & Omega Custom Ashford (they have the same frame for both the doors and the drawer fronts...that's the part I liked the most about all 3 styles). Oh, and I have cherry wood w/mandarin orange stain & coffee glaze. The cabinets have definitely darkened since I got them...and the center panel has darkened right along with the rest of the cabinets. HTH!...See MoreNeed help deciding between Candlelight or Dynasty cabinets!
Comments (4)I sold Dynasty for 3 years. I loved working with them. They offered top notch quality, great customer service, and a huge amount of customization. If there was something that Dynasty couldn't do, like pocket doors on an oven cabinet for a TV above it, the sister full custom company Omega could do it. The lines dovetail seamlessly with each other so that you only need to use one or two full custom cabinets for a whole kitchen, which helped to keep costs down. The kitchens that I did in painted beaded inset averaged 35-55K and usually involved stacked cabinets, glass, wood goods, and other upscale details. The frameless line averaged from 10% less to 20% more than many American RTA lines suggested here for people to use when compared apples to apples....See MoreOmega Dynasty vs local custom cabinets?
Comments (34)I read some of the reviews and looked at their pictures. I have had none of the issues others people were complaining about. Honestly, some of the pictures looked more like dings or damage caused by installation, not production (maybe an installer is trying to put the blame elsewhere so they don't have to take responsibility for their actions?) E.g., the torn cabinet looks exactly like mine did when the counter installers tried turning a huge piece of stone counter in-place when they realized they had put it on the cabinets wrong...I heard the tear/rip of the cabinets from upstairs! That was NOT Omega's fault, it was the counter installers' fault -- and they paid to replace the cabinet. Regardless, no one is perfect -- not you, not me, not the reviewers, and not companies. There will be some issues occasionally, it's how they handle issues that is important. My experience is they are wonderful. (While it shouldn't make a difference, sometimes your attitude towards someone can affect their reaction, if you call them and immediately act belligerent or accusatory without giving them a chance, you may not get the best reaction...be pleasant but firm. Remember, you're dealing with people, not computers.) Be aware that (1) the overwhelming majority of people who are pleased will not post a review, usually only someone who is unhappy will take the time to write a review and (2) you need to check if the reviews are valid (not sure how to do that, but I know on some sites people will "down rate" their competition). Oh, and Dynasty is NOT custom, despite what one of the reviewers stated -- they're SEMI-custom. The custom line is Pinnacle....See Morebabbie
