Hello,

This is my first time posting to GardenWeb. This site seems like a great resource. My husband and I live in a 100 year old colonial home in South Jersey. Our kitchen is pretty small and we're interested in renovating it, but we want to update it without it looking too modern for the age and style of our home. We tend to gravitate toward the vintage Italian farmhouse style and I was recently referred to a painter who can help our old plaster walls look like Tuscan stucco. There are so many options for countertops and flooring, I get dizzy just thinking about it! A friend of mine just installed soapstone counters and it got me thinking about whether or not it would be the perfect fit for our modest kitchen. Would love some advice/tips/feedback.
