Experience with light-colored leathered quartzite
Comments (4)Most stoneyard people don't know what they have in their shops. You have to know for yourself before you get there. I have white macaubus quartzite, polished. It's beautiful and easy to care for, no stains or issues whatsoever. I also have leathered antique brown granite. It's wonderful and feels so nice and soft to the touch. Have you seen and touched an actual slab of leathered Madre Perola/Mother of Pearl/Madre di Perla, Dolce Vita/Austral Dream, Taj Mahal, or White Macaubus in person at a stoneyard? If so, what did you think of the colors, the touch? My favorite thing about my leathered counters it the way they feel....See MoreKitchen finished! White cabs, quartzite, leathered black. Whew!
Comments (89)Wow, I'm just now seeing this! Beautiful kitchen, Babs! Love everything about it, especially the counters and floors! They are stunning. Couple of questions, one may be too difficult to answer, and if so, I completely understand. It's about your glass cabinets. Do you know how wide they are and how wide your doors are? My cabinet maker is thinking one door on a wider cabinet, and I love the look of yours with two! Also, you may have mentioned it in another thread that I missed, but who did you order your counter stools from? They too, are gorgeous!! Congrats, Congrats, Congrats....See MoreSeal leathered quartzite counters?
Comments (9)Hi everyone, thought I’d share an update in case anyone is interested. I did a water test and 30 mins later nothing appeared to have absorbed. I wiped it away and there was a slightly damp/dark spot that disappeared quickly. The stone looks beautiful and natural, like a muted soap stone, so I’m glad I didn’t have it sealed. Very happy with it. Pics from install and water test 30 mins apart. Thanks again for your suggestions....See Moreleathered quartzite edge HELP!
Comments (0)Our fabricator says they’ll have the miter the edges and basically glue another mitered edge from our slab together to make leathered look contribute over. Does anyone have pictures of this? I’m a bit nervous but w the little research I can find-it seems to be a common option....See Moremom2samlibby
