Where/how can I get samples of Ann Sacks tiles?

Sorry for all the questions these days :)

I love some of the colors on the Ann Sacks web site but according to their web interface, the closest showroom is several hours away from me.

There are probably 10 colors/finishes that I like on the site. How would I go about seeing these in person? Someone must have run into this before, can you advise?

Don't know if I can help you since it was a hop, skip and a jump for me to get to a showroom. They happily gave me samples of what I was considering in person. I wonder if you contacted the nearest showroom if they would ship them to you? If you are closest to Chicago, I will give you my salesperson's contact info.

I had the same experiance at the Ann Sacks in San Francsico. They were more then willing to give samples. Have you tried calling and explaining the situation?

I'm sure all the associates work on comission and a phone sale is still a sale.

The whole collection is breathtakingly beautiful.... Okay, hold on to your hat, you're going to go nuts when you look at this stuff....hold on to your wallet too, lol. Here it is....... It's from the glass Beau Monde collection at Ann Sacks, it's the marilyn in quartz, agate, amber and tiger's eye OMG, it's so pretty. I can't stand it. I don't know where you're located... I'm not too far from NY but couldn't make it in to the Ann Sacks showroom to look at tile. I called the 18th St NY store and the wonderful salesman overnighted me the sample boards I chose from browsing online. I emailed him drawings and room dimensions and faxed in the payment. My experience was as follows: I called Ann Sacks and asked for some samples for my backsplash. Six weeks passed and I had not received the samples. I called back several times and on the third call, he finally sent my samples, overnight. I said I was ready to place my order about a month after I received the samples and the sales person never called me back, didn't ask the right questions. I spoke to the Manager of the store in Georgetown and he was apologetic, but even his follow up was awful. I placed my order, yet needed more items--follow up was awful. I left several messages for the Manager and he never even bothered to call me back. When I received my order for 6 bullnose pieces, there were only 4 pieces in there. Again, in this economy, I'm ASTOUNDED by poor customer service. My $800 order may not have meant enough to them to provide outstanding customer service. I loved the tiles, and wanted to give an American made product my business, but you cannot excuse poor customer service. Even the manager's voice mail says he'll call you back at "his earliest convenience". Apparently, his earliest convenience is never, because I had to call their corporate office this morning in order to get him on the phone--four days after I left him a message. I don't ask for a lot, but follow through and good customer service are essential! So, yes, their customer service is the worst ever. And I wanted to spread the word.

I just spoke with Wendy who works in the Ann Sacks store in Portland Oregon and according to her the stores in the design centers may allow access to design professionals only, but the stores that are just regular (or not in design centers) sell retail. Also, Wendy said that you can get samples for free if the tile is something that's an in stock choice, but you would have to pay if the tile is a special stone cut or something that the store would have to order in. If the store that's closest to you cannot provide samples, Wendy said it's okay to call the Portland store for help. If you order samples you would likely be charged extra for shipping, depending on where you're located. The Portland store is the main flagship one, so they have a great selection. Hope that helps! Are any of the browns in the peachy "fish" shaped tile smilar to the browns of your cabinets? Is the white in the tile as white or nearly as white as your applicances? If so, I think you could not only "get away with " it, that tile would look fabulous. If the browns are much lighter in tone and the whites are much more off-white, it's a tougher call. Can you get a sample...and put it in your kitchen? I would not be inclined to do the yellow....seems to me to introduce a whole different color family, though if you repeated yellow elsewhere with accessories, chair seats, etc, it would work. Not in my mind as well as one of the tiles with the brown in it though. If the peachy fish doesn't work, I personally like the third set of tiles a lot too...FWIW.

Yup, I called Boston. But I had too many colors I wanted to see (basically all of the off-whites and light greens!). They're shipping me two colors, two different finishes, so hopefully that will help me narrow the choices, and then they can send more.

I called a store in Troy, Michigan and the SA (Michelle) there sent me a ton of samples at no charge. Maybe like 10-15 tiles. I ended up ordering from her. Got the Cappricio tiles in pale green. I dont think the colors in the Cappricio line are current on the web. Pale green was part of the new colors. They have more of a handmade glazed look to them, which is what I loved. Should be here on Thursday and I cant wait to see them installed!

Oh, really? New colors? I am looking at the Elements line, only because the Capriccio doesn't come in small enough tiles (at least that's what the site says, has that changed of do they just have 3x6 and 4x4?)

Did you happen to see any of the Elements tiles in person? I am hoping that the earthenware glaze style has some glaze variation and handmade look as well. Unfortunately the Elements is 2x as expensive as the Capriccio!

Well- if the Boston store doesn't want to ship me the 13 colors I liked, maybe I should call your MI store!
