I really like the combination. I think the matte tile is a good choice. Do pay attention to the undertones in the linen tile, is there a smidge of pinkness? Or is that a reflection off the wood surface it is laying flat on or an illusion on my monitor.
I do encourage you to stand the tile upright, in front of the flat granite. Then, step back and look at it that way. Also, I dont know where you took the photograph but check it in the light of your kitchen.

the wood under the granite and tile is the color of the cabinets and I took the photo on the counter top of the kitchen so it is taken under the lights in the kitchen.

I am out of town so I will take another photo when I get home and post with the tile placed on the wall

believe it or not this tile is a stock tile at Lowe's, it's one of their linen or wood look tiles and it has gray undertones,

It may be my camera creating the pink undertones, but I will double check that
