I just went through the selection process. I wanted the water handle to be on the spout as well and was about to spend $600 on the Kohler Vinata. I called my plumber and he said Delta would be what he recommends. It just so happened that I had kept going to the Delta Victorian faucet on display at the plumber supply even though the water handle is not on the faucet itself and that is the one I decided on. It even comes with a soap dispenser which I decided to not use. I wanted a less cluttered look. I love the way the sprayer snaps back into place almost on it's on. It has a magnet built in. It just felt easier when I handled it. The others were awkward and a number were broken even on display. I have had it in about a month and love how easy it is to use. AND... it was about $350 less than the Kohler model I liked. Here is a link to show you the particulars on the faucet. If you would like, I can send a photo of how it looks installed.

I too wanted a single handle. I think the styling on Price Pfister is very attractive but I have heard very mixed comments on the quality. I decided on the Delta Saxony, have had it actually a tad over a year (like maybe a week more:) and have to say it is wonderful. I did get it with the soap dispenser. I got it in the stainless finish, which wears extremetly well (like I hardly remember to wipe it down because it ALWAYS looks clean).I love the styling, the hose is very substantial, never have a problem getting it back in the faucet)... all around totally pleased. I do need to take some pictures. If I can do that this evening I will but I wanted to jump in and sing the praises of the Delta Saxony. For what its worth, I have heard only good about Delta and Moen.

I have the pp marielle. Got it in December and so far so good. I love the style of it, I too have heard some bad reviews on it, but we've had low cost faucets before and never had problems with them, so we decided to take the risk.

I have a Price Pfister single faucet Parisa.
I love the Mariella, but my DH liked the Parisa better.
They are very similar. The Mariella's handle is more
elegant looking. (To me)

I had a PP pull out for years and it never gave us any
trouble and we have hard water issues. The only reason we
replaced it was because it was white and we wanted the
stainless look. I read on GW to stay away from PP but
since I had such great luck for 10 years we decided
to stay with it. I also checked with our plumber.

I love the Delta you are looking at too. I am not a fan
of Moen. When I went faucet shopping I would take them
apart, look at them, yank on them, act rough with them..
And I found the Moen could not really stand up to my
naughty behavior. I just wanted to be sure I was
getting a sturdy faucet. I am not sure the PP is
better quality but it did stand up to my mean test.

My plumber seems really keen on Moen, so if anyone out there has the Colonnade (I think it may be Moen's closest to the Delta Saxony?), I would love to hear about it. My builder's standard is the Moen Aberdeen and I know many GWs love the Aberdeen and probably think I'm nuts for switching. I just think I would like something a bit more old-world looking.

I don't know about you but I've always wanted the two handle kitchen faucet.

Jeane72, Thanks for the info on the Delta. It is one of my favorite faucets. I really had my heart set on a bridge faucet, but I am now considering the Delta Victorian. I need 2 faucets in my kitchen and the one on my island will be a pull down. I was at Lowes the other day and a woman looking at faucets mentioned to me how much she loved the magnet feature that holds up the head when not in use. Many of the pull downs were hanging loose and these are just displays. I think the price seems really good and I have heard many plumbers recommend them. I do have all Kohler in my house now. We have had them for 13 years and not one problem with any of them.

Don't judge a faucet by what you see in the stores...most are not properly installed w/the weights adjusted...so of course they dangle!

Does the magnet let you mount the head in any position or is it restricted to one position? I.e., can it do this?

Or, is it limited to this?

As to Price-Phister...we had a PP in our old kitchen that is now in use by my brother in his condo...it's been in use now for probably 7 or 8 years w/no problems.

I have the stainless steel price pfister marielle faucet. I've only had it for about 1 month but so far so good.

These are really nice, as we have to choose a faucet soon. I also like the Kohler Forte.

I have the Delta Victorian in stainless and I'm very happy with it. I got it at Lowes with a coupon for $200. The magnet docking is wonderful...a great feature.

Sheilaaus122, I love the Saxony! Looks very classy. It would be my first choice, for sure. My builder, however, seems to have some kind of deal with Moen and the price is significantly less. So now I have to find a Moen that looks like the Saxony. I think the Colonnade may be the closest, but no GWs seem to have it, which makes me a bit nervous.

I was considering getting a faucet with the handle separate from the spout for our laundry room but decided I didn't want one for 2 reasons: 1. an extra hole would have to be drilled (through stainless steel---our sink came with no holes), and 2. it's one extra thing to collect gunk in the crevice between the metal and counter. Also the space between the back of each item behind the sink and backsplash can be narrow and difficult to get at.

Our kitchen pull down faucets don't have magnets but the nozzle still seats very well to the base. Most store displays don't have the proper weights on the hoses which is why the nozzles dangle. There is rarely a problem at home with dangling.

Rhodora- Moen is very well regarded so dont be too disappointed. I just browsed some of their models, and just also noticed a few more attractive ones-- again I have not seen them in person, but they look interesting....the extensa, and the renza.

Rhodora, it looks like we have similar tastes in faucets. On my short list, I had the Delta Saxony, PP Marielle, Kohler Fairfax, Danze Opulence, and the Moen Camerist.

I made a spreadsheet so I could compare all of the features that were important to me. Then I ranked them. Then I let DH rank them and his choices were the opposite of mine! The Moen Camerist was my least favorite because it had the simplest lines, while it was DHÂs favorite for the same reason.

Since I was making most of the design decisions, I let DH win on this one. We went to look at it in person and it had a nice heavy feel to it. It has been installed for almost a year and I LOVE it.

The shape fits perfectly in my had when I pull it out. The button is underneath and easy to reach. It has a stream, rinse, veggie spray, and pause option. It pulls out and re-docks easily.

I pulled up the specs to compare the Colonade to the Camerist:

Well, I was able to find the Colonnade and see it in person. I found it quite chunky looking.
So I made the decision to go with the Moen Castleby. It's quite simiplistic but after seeing it in person, I really like that it looks delicate and has a teapot spout. I think it will go well with my birdcage hardware and the overall look I'm going for.
I was also talking with the plumber again and he told me Moen has two different lines -there's plumber's grade and store grade. Some models are both, but another model I liked, the Moen Lexi, was store grade and he said he could not guarantee it. He gave me a brochure of the plumber's grade Moen faucets. The Castleby looks nice and gets the plumbers approval so I'm happy with my pick.
I'll post some photos once it all gets done! The plumbing and electrical has been done and now the next step is heating and drywall. I hope to survive this house build!
