I think Grazia makes a line that comes in 5x5 -- there is a matte tile and a crackle one.

I have never heard of Grazia tiles before. I checked and they are like the others, don't really have a lot of sizes with the colors I need.

The BEST I have found is Jeffrey Court Chapter 12 (French Crema color) ~ they have 6x6s and 2x3s and liners that I'll try and make work. The thing is, once you set a 6x6 on the diagnal, it's MUCH taller than 6 inches :(

If I can't make these work, I'll just look at 4x4s

You Really don't want 6x6 or maybe not even 5x5 if you are doing diagonals + an accent

The diagonal of a 6" tile is 8.5: even with no accent you wouldnt have two full tiles in 16".

The diagonal of 5" is a bit over 7 so if you use a two inch accent you will fit two full tiles on the diagonal

A 4" has a diagonal of 5.6, so you would get 2-1/2+ full tiles on the diagonal with an accent, which may give you a bit more leeway with layout.

Thanks palimpsest .... I fell in love with a kitchen I saw in a granite yard and thoughtright away: that's what I want!!!

And they used the Jeffrey Court Chapter 12. They had a row of 2x3 (set vertically) ~ and inch accent tile ~ then two rows of 6x6s set diagnally. And it looked GREAT. Behind the stove area they used a accent border with hexagons inside.

I'm sure they had at least 18 inches from countertop to top of cabinets. I have only 16 (maybe even a little less).

So, I'm thinking I should start looking at 4x4s or just use the 6x6s set straight.

Behind my sink I want an accent area consising of (if I use the Jeffrey Court) 2x3 subways set in a brick pattern; a 1/2 inch accent border, shaped in a rectangle (but with an arched top); NOW in the accent area, I want 1x1 glass sparkley tile ~ all tone-on-tone (pretty much); because my granite (Delicatus Brown), will be quite busy!

This is just driving me crazy, I tell ya. I have looked at thousands of BSs trying to get ideas.

But before anything can be done; we have to take off my current tile. 1x1 mosaics (whites/off-whites) on the counter and backsplash (from counter to top of cabinets).

Don't think this will be any kind of fun job :( Hoping to get started on taking those off next week.

I am driving myself crazy over this!!!! I want the backsplash to look nice, blend well and be noticable without SHOUTING ~ hey look at me!!! If you know what I mean!!!

I don't seem to be able to make the pictures show up, but hopefully you can link to one or two of them. I do really like the way the backsplash turned out.

The tiles are Grazia Rixi in Crema. I considered using another color in the accent pieces, but am glad I kept it to just the one color.

I LOVE your backsplash!!! I just love the niche area behind your stove; but sure that is something we can't do, as this is NOT new construction; and my accent area will be behind my sink.

What I have *visioned* is a field tile area like yours, but behind my sink, smaller 2x3 subway tiles with a thin tile border making a box (like yours, only flat on the wall) BUT with an ARCHED TOP ~ filled with 1x1 glass mosaic tiles, all in the same colorway as the tile. I want the BS to be *showy* but *not the center of attention* ~ as the Delicatus Brown granite will take the *star* billing :)

I need to learn how to post pics on this site. I can post them on FB; but should figure out how to do it here ... again, a BIG THANKS for taking the time to post these for me.
