SW and BM paint - share your favorite colors

We are building a new home, we have picked cabinets, flooring, knobs, faucets, etc.... its all coming together. I'm looking at paint colors now.

I'm considering SW Blonde for foyer/dining room/Living room (do you have this- if so please share your pics)...

We are also considering BM Navajo White for ceiling and trim (We can repaint if needed later but thought it would be easiest to pick one color for these main areas).. Do you have this color for ceiling or trim? Pics?

Our family room has 20foot ceilings. I am considering a darker paint like BM Tawny (deep rich color) but i'm conserned - how will this rich/deep color look in such a big room ? (21x20) with the high ceilings. Does anyone have pics to share of such a big room with your color? We do have lots of light from windows in this room.

Cheap matte paint doesn't clean well. That's true - in general. The better (usually higher price-points) mattes clean like a dream - it's amazing actually. Aura Matte in particular is pretty awesome. I'm afraid I have to disagree about matte finish showing imperfections. Matte is a great choice for hiding walls that aren't exactly perfect and might not have been prepped to perfection. Matte is the next best choice after flat or dead flat for hiding imperfections. Some people simply can not stand to live with flat or dead flat - they need some visual 'slip' to the final finish. Once you start moving into satin finishes I do think it's tougher to hide the bumps and whatnot.

In our new home we used both Benjamin Moore & SW paints. On the interior walls in our open floor plan on the main level I used SW "Creamy." It's a soft white, almost the color of whipping cream. It is warm but never seems to read yellow or dingy. All our woodwork is SW "Snowbound" which is a fresh, but not too stark, white. My favorite SW color is called "Comfort Gray" but it doesn't read gray to anyone. It's the softest sage with a tiny hint of blue that really is a comforting hue. We did our large family room in it.

My favorite is Edgecomb Grey. I painted both of my children's room's this color. It looks fab with pink accents and black furniture in my daughter's room, and equally terrific with navy and red in my son's room. Also love Stonington Grey, which is in my bedroom. Grey Wisp is another great color. Have it in the office and powder room. Hmmm...i think I like grey! Just realized that every room that I've painted in this house has been some shade of grey.! Kitchen is next. On the table is revere pewter and Harbor Grey. Of course.
