Kohler Karbon and Shaws Apron 30' sink
Comments (6)Hi CalifKitchen - Sorry I was not clear, we ended up going with a pair of the faucets for the larger sink. I dropped in a pic below. I cannot imagine you would have problem with reach on the Karbon but cannot comment specifically on that. Regarding whether they go or not they go together, you have to stay true to what you like - I LOVE classic and modern together. I think the tension is interesting, and seems less dated to me than working within just one more consistent time trend. Your Shaw and Karbon remind me of the several classic pedestal sinks I have in my house all with modern faucets, I love them together! (But I am also a person who made choices that other people would not have, which is totally cool with me.) And as Fori points out, facuets are easy to replace, you could enjoy them for a few years and later change them out if you get tired of the combo. Just make sure the sink is a keeper! :-)...See MoreSink issue; Kohler stages 45 sink question(s)
Comments (11)I was hoping scrappy would join the conversation. I just snapped a pic of mine and you can see it does not splash with the faucet on regular flow. I believe you need to choose the faucets carefully to fit your use, especially if wall mounted. One thing I'd like to mention though is that I would not want to give up the shelf to hand washing. That is my favorite prep area. As I've used my sink for six months now, I've developed patterns; I use the right 3/4's for prep and the area to the left of the drain for dirty/transitional stuff and hand washing. Hand washing is a main reason I went with the Kohler. My DH is not trainable regarding this and it's one of the reasons we chose the stages. I did consider this in the planning stage and have my fridge to the right of the landing counter, the trash and recycle directly below the center of the sink and DW to the left. We considered two faucets but ultimately went with one Kohler Karbon. It reaches all corners and i love that I do not have to hold it. I love it as much as my sink. The shelf is very handy during prep. That's where I open packages, put my prep scraps, actually it changes jobs continually and I have to say it is the most active part of my sink and I would not want hand washing there. I also place my small dish drainer there for cleanup. This is my typical setup except I usually use small colanders on the grate, then slide them under my cutting boards to keep the left clear for hand washing. In your case, I would consider a wall mount Karbon on the shelf side and the Hi-rise on the left....See MoreUPDATE on my "I Hate my Kohler Stages Sink", new Karbon facuet
Comments (10)SO glad it's at least somewhat helpful. Seriously, I wouldn't know about even HALF of the things I've put into my kitchens over the years if it weren't for the real-life experiences of actual cooks who do their kitchens and share here. The faucet was chrome, so maybe not everyone's cup of tea, but we had several other chrome elements, so it worked for us, and at 40% off what I was expecting to pay, I was IN. Karbon for $769 This faucet is seriously amazing. Count me in the fan club!! A total aside, but the AutoTap was another purchase that has revolutionized how we cook. I remember reading about the TapMaster years ago, and I found the AutoTap for FAR less, and I'm in love. My ONLY beef with the KK faucet was that you had to turn the water off in order to revert back to a steady stream. The AutoTap makes it as easy as a tap of the toe. Love this thing. My other half came in with mucky hands and walked right over to the sink and just tapped it on. Nifty AutoTap #KitchenDorkLOVE...See MoreFeedback on Kohler Karbon and Stages 45
Comments (14)We too are going the 'let's fully use our marble' Nightowl. Champagne, gin and tonics,. Beer, red wine. Etc. all poured into glasses with no worries as to possible etches. We have only had ours a week and have thirty or fourth etches. All teeny splash marks. Don't care one bit. Even my hubby is fine with it. And everyone who said in my research phase, that you can't see etches until you look a certain way ( head nearly on counter tilted sideways, and who does that and doesn't worry that the men in white coats are going to come and cart them away to a pink padded room) love it. Soooo pleased we plumped for it. bbtrix, the only thing that makes me doubt my marble is your wooden island top. Wow! Everytime I see it it gives me butterflies in my stomach and I can't stop staring and finally the op, beachem, I don't think you'll have a problem reaching my daughter is 5'2" and one of the others is 4'7" ( they are 18 and 13) can reach our tap easily ( Kohler Vinnata) the karbon looks very user friendly and movable and LOVING my stages 45 it was a last min splurge had a 100cm Belfast in order but the delivery company messed up four times with its delivery so we finally had enough then I sweet talked dh into the stages. Was easier than I thought...See Moretoddao
