There are different grades of Crema Marfil. The ones I'm familiar with are the select, which has less veining and a cleaner more uniform look, and the standard which has more veining and a bit more color variation. I haven't seen one though with drastic color variations. Did you specify the quality of crema marfil in your contract or store? If it's much different from what you saw in the store I would contact them. You really should check the tile before it goes up ;-(. Are there many dark ones? If not maybe they can be replaced. Hope you can resolve it. Can you post a photo?

I too like the shell tile inset. But when I found an on-line vendor, greatbritaintile.com, I read this warning about it. Thanks, Bill. I've asked the project manager to talk to them, since I am paying him to take care of such things. If he doesn't get much response, I'll have to do it myself...highly likely. BTW, thanks for the earlier help with the bathtub coated with old grout. I passed on your advice and the workers cleaned it up very well. I'm not sure how difficult it was since I was out of town...but they weren't complaining too much :-) The tub is in place in the renovated bathroom and looks great!
