Do you regret chrome hardware?
Comments (5)In my bathrooms I have all chrome faucets, lighting fixtures, pulls and I love the classic look. In my kitchen I have a chrome faucet set, but all my bin pulls, knobs, lighting fixtures are satin nickel. I chose nickel over chrome because my kitchen is open to the DR & LR and I wanted to be consistent, particularly with the light fixtures as they are a focal point in the kitchen & DR. If I had a stand-alone kitchen, and were to do it all over again, I would go with chrome throughout. I really like the clean, timeless look of chrome. I've had no problems with the upkeep in the bathrooms. I think chrome got a bad rap because those of us of a certain age remember a lot of "chrome-look" fixtures that were actually plastic with a shiny silver paint that was always peeling and pitting. I think, stylewise, it depends on what type of kitchen you're doing as to whether or not it's the best fit. But for practical use, I don't see that there would be a problem with maintaining chrome hardware. Big items, like the toasters & breadboxes made of chrome in the '50's present a challenge keeping smudges at bay, but I think you'd be fine with knobs, pulls, etc....See MoreCabinet Hardware-Brushed Nickel or Polished Chrome
Comments (2)We had polished brass and I just recently changed them to brushed nickel b/c I wanted a "softer" look on my cabinets. The polished brass did not show any fingerprints. I think the chrome sounds very nice with your color cabinets! It depends on the look you want - do you want the knobs to stand out or be more suble?...See MoreORB or Polished Chrome Cabinet Hardware

Comments (8)In my master bedroom, the headboard is polished nickel. I'm certainly NOT buying a new bed frame for my new build, and I like this look and texture. I definitely want other fixtures (the hanging rod for my curtains, and the fixtures in the master bath, to match. What style will be "in" in 10 years from now is no concern of mine. (The handicap-accessible shower will have chrome fixtures, because I think that is all that is easily available, but I'll have a curtain to close it off.) In other words, if you plan to sell in a few years, go with the trends. If you don't, go with your heart....See Morebreezygirl
