Backsplash behind Gas range - Glass??

Design our first home and kitchen, I am concerned about wifeâÂÂs choice of tiling behind the range. The tile is a glass mosaic as shown below. IâÂÂm worry about all the grease and tomato sauce splatter on the tile and grout line. The glass tile should wipe off with ease, but the grout lines could be a problem?? Is epoxy grout the solution to this?

So I have done up two options,

regular stainless steel backsplash, but that would break up the whole feature wall with tiles.

Tampered glass backsplash in front of tile, so the tile would still be seen. Have anyone done or seen this done? Have not given thought on how to install it, probably with two small channels top and bottom to hold the glass. Issues I see are condensation between glass and tile, constant heat from range heat glass.
