Anyone keep pre-reno appliances?

I have a 10 year old stainless fridge and a wall oven/micro of unknown age, also stainless. I like them both and they work fine. They don't completely match.

I plan to replace my cooktop, hood, compactor and DW and keep the fridge and oven. I thought long and hard about replacing the fridge but realized that the only reason to do it would be that psychological satisfaction of having everything all new at once. They are nice looking appliances, and if I clean them out and get them looking sparkling, I don't think they'll detract from my new kitchen.

I'm wondering if anyone else did this and later regretted it?

Also, if I were replacing the oven I would get a wall oven separate from a microwave, so I will research sizes and make sure my oven cut out is large enough to accommodate this if I make the change. Same with the fridge -- I think most new ones are a bit taller than my old one so I'll have the cabinet maker give me a little filler piece so I can have more options when the time comes to replace.
