anyone purchase Quartz countertops from HD or Lowes?
Comments (11)That may be true but has not been my experience. We have owned the Cambria Quartz for 8 years and the Lowes Quartz for 2.5 years. I put all of my hot oven pans on them, cut everything on them, including lemons and strawberries and even permanent markers have come off after my children drew on them. The only thing that has slightly stained my counters is curry/Indian food if left for a long time. Even this I got off with scrubbing but there is a faint hue but it blends in with the marble. We do have an undermount sink and there is one chip on the Cambria after 8 years. I knew that I could do all these things to the countertop because I got a sample 12 x12 during our 2 year renovation before the cabinets were ready and we tried to destroy it and could not. I left red wine, lemon juice, strawberries and a few other things on the sample for over a month without staining. I then purposely put pans from the stove, oven and broiler on the sample- no damage. I was really nervous about the marble look (Cambria Torquay) because it was brand new and no other companies had a white marble quartz yet. It was the best decision EVER after having a black granite and a marble countertop in prior house. Quartz is so much better and now there are dozens of marble looking quartz countertops. My only concern is that my now teenagers are going to destroy some granite or marble countertop in the future because they don't even think about cutting vegetables and meat on the countertop, placing hot things on it or dropping staining liquids....See MoreSugarbrush Quartz by allen + roth at Lowes?
Comments (7)I have quartz and I like it! Paid $44 per sq ft at Lowes. We have LG Viatera in Cabo. We initially wanted Allen + Roth in Grand Pacific but I think it was $55 per sqft. The seams are hardly noticeable when looking down from your normal height (i.e. when you're standing and working), but you can see them if you lean down close. I can feel the seam slightly, but nothing too severe. A cloth or sponge wouldn't catch on it. It doesn't look plasticky to me but I am not sure what you mean by that! I think the less patterned stones tend to have that Corian-ish look about them, which I don't like. Anyway, I love love LOVE that quartz is pretty much zero maintenance! We can barely see any stuff that we spill thanks to the color/pattern we chose, but it's so nice to know that it's not going to get stained, etched, etc....See MoreLowe's Allen + Roth Quartz Counters - Anyone have experiences?

Comments (18)I just had a similar situation happen to me. Counter was cut 5/8 inch short and they offered me 10% off a backsplash. the counter is also uneven around the sink and there is a scratch on the island. After I declined the discount on the backsplash, and several exchanges with Lowe’s and the owner of the countertop company, they are providing me with a free backsplash and repairing the scratch. Nothing on the sink. Lowe’s will also give me a $200 credit. After doing an entire kitchen remodel with lowe’s and spending a ton of money I am very displeased with the end result and no one seems to care. Our vision was to tile all the way down to the counter and now that is not possible due to this error. Lowe’s has held the position of the fabricator that the 5/8 gap is necessary because my walls aren’t straight and done nothing to back me up. Doesn’t make sense. After consulting with an architect, with no self interest in this project, it is confirmed that walls are nit always straight and gaps should not be that big. Regretful of the choice to do counters through Lowe’s and would highly recommend looking elsewhere For anyone considering....See Moreraee_gw zone 5b-6a Ohio
