what kind of doormat you placed at the door?

i want to buy a new doormat for my new family.

do you think what pattern is good?

i found a very lovely doormat at walmart.

how do you think about it?

I think it is a really sweet doormat. Almost too cute to step on!

I tend toward the functional type of mat, as large as possible so that people can wipe their shoes well.

Like Graywings, I prefer functional doormats. One good brand is Waterhog. It's attractive and does a great job of cleaning muck from shoes and boots. Most of their styles are basic, but I did see a couple of Christmas designs in a catalog recently.

$79??? Wow! That was either a really long time ago or a close out or out-of-the-box special. I haven't seen DIY products that low in over 5 years. I would recommend you stick with a Chamberlain/Liftmaster/Accessmaster/Craftsman machine (all divisions of Chamberlain Group). What model would depend on what features you want/need, how long you plan on staying in the house, and budget. What is currently installed really won't affect the installation of a new machine. All the parts have to be replaced anyway, so there is not cost or time savings from that standpoint. Chain Drive - generally revered as "Contractor Series" models - Great if you are in the process of selling or if budget is your #1 concern. Screw Drive - great middle of the line machine. Least amount of moving parts. Belt Drive - The best (for the most part). Very quiet and less temperamental with weather changes.

Storm door clearance won't allow for a doormat

I have my door mat off to the side even though there is room for the door to open. The reason I have it off to the side, is if you wipe your feet on it, and it is in front of the door, you have to step back off the mat to open the door. Mine is off to the side, wipe your feet, open the door and enter the house. Doen't look funny at all. My back door to the wooden deck has the mat off to the side for the same reason.

agree with above. i would have kept them one way had there been an odd number of doors. the pic of my fridge/freezer wall shows display cabs, so it didn't matter if they were different since i really never open them.

Thank you all for your help! You're correct that the doors are fiberglass. I called our salesman at Ganahl this morning and he said we can't do multipoint locks on these doors and there was some other option that we would have had to select at the time of purchase but can't be added now. Wish I had researched this better and/or asked better questions at the time we ordered the doors, since they are now non-returnable. Hopefully it works out. I bought the keyed door lever and deadbolt (single cylinder - see below) for the active door and two dummy door handles for the passive door. Re double cylinder, the Ganahl salesman said the downside of that, aside from inconvenience, is that in the event of a fire or other emergency, it slows down your ability to exit the house quickly. If someone is determined to break into the house, the double cylinder may create an extra step but they'll find another way in. And P.S. I do live in a warm and safe area, although it's an El Niño year, so good luck to us and our new doors! Thank you all again!!

I have a Waterhog on the porch and boy does it hog water! lol. Which is a good thing.

On the inside of the doorway, I have an inexpensive mat with a dark pattern because no matter how much you wipe your feet on a wet day, you still bring stuff inside. This way I can chunk it when it's used up.

I figured this one out.

laurabl112 is a spammer who posts here to drive traffic to one or more websites that receive money from retailers, including dealstudio.com. If you look at his/her previous posts, you will see lots on instances of this, and then the occasional brief post like, "Cute photo!"
