suggestions please to make my yard look nicer
Comments (2)The grass or vegetation looks pretty nice. Since you didn't complain about it (as in it is a bunch of weeds that you also want to get rid of), then I might suggest using paver stones to make a path. The grass will still grow up to the stone and need cutting or trimming, but you can achieve the path without too much digging or ground prep. If you decide to go with pea gravel, I would dig down a few inches, lay landscape fabric or weedblock, then fill in with pea gravel. You may also want some kind of border so that the gravel or dirt don't eventually mix up together on the side of the path. I don't recommend to put the gravel on the soil directly because weeds will eventually grow through, and also as you step on the gravel over time, it just sinks more and more into the ground. The fabric helps to not sink in as much, even though you do still get it a little bit....See MoreCan you wax formica? Or make it look nicer?
Comments (4)I've used a supermarket product called Countertop Magic. It's one of a line of "Magic" products in the cleaning aisle. It comes in an aerosol can. I found it makes the formica look shiny and generally refreshed. This was on thirty year old, butcher block type laminate, which really didn't show scratches much anyway. It's very temporary, and is easily washed away, so needs to be repeated often to maintain the shiny, new look. My counter is gone now and I'm waiting for my new counter in my new kitchen. I actually think something like Pledge might achieve the same nice, but temporary result....See MoreHelp me make my landscape look fabulous
Comments (10)Remove all the shrubs. Create a curved walkway from mid point of driveway to connect to a small sitting porch. Create planting areas inside the walkway and between the sitting area and the lawn. Renovate the lawn so it looks healthy. Make sure its is properly irrigated. Use Butterfly Bush, Yucca recurvifolia, Damianita, Spanish Lavender, Red Yucca to name a few. Creating the spaces between the lawn, the pavers and the planting areas is the key....See MoreMake my piano look nicer!
Comments (13)The bench is too short for adults! I've been looking at actual (new) adjustable benches and stools just to get an idea of the range and few come high enough for me to get my elbows right. (I'm short but still! My kid is shorter.) A quick google gave me this dealer's ad on the same model (note the dealer saying it's child friendly. It isn't unless they stand! Also note the faded bench.): http://www.chicagopianos.com/120409update2/hardman-minipiano.html It's not a studio...might be a type of spinet. It's not at all normal. 38" tall, 18" deep (excluding the handles in the back that keep it off the wall a bit), 56" wide. The top of the keys are 34" from the floor. It looks like the one in the ad may be missing the casters. Might be something to look at next time I feel like flipping a piano over. Sure, it's a Minipiano, but it's still a piano!...See Morettodd
