Accessorizing Ledge above New Sofa (Pic)...how bad is it??
Comments (10)I think the items are interesting, but spaced out like soldiers in a row feel too small for the space. Try grouping them according to their kind - the two larger bottle shapes together on the left end. Then the three small red ones together, with gold candles (pillar, on the shorter side) in them on the right end. Finally, the four cream ones together in the center, with mossy green pillars (short, all the same height) in them. If you are not a faux greenery hater, consider tucking some ivy or other winding stems around the center grouping, trailing off to either side. Also, pull them all forward so they are more visible. Your couch is nice, but I would use the red pillows on either side with the larger matching ones, and the only one of the picture pillows, in the center. Above the couch, a mirror would work, something with a top curve or arch to echo the shape of the couch on the bottom trim, or an oval....See MoreHow to decorate kitchen soffits above cabinets
Comments (9)Don't paint a vine with flowers on them. That will suck value from any resale you want to do. DH just had to pay to get his ex wife's taste in murals removed so the house would sell. Do you have a photo of your soffits? We have something similar. We put crown molding up there and it looks very elegant....See MoreDecorating above kitchen cabinets
Comments (23)OMG, I just have to tell you honestly, when I saw your first photos I thought your kitchen was older and ready for a remodel. I was so focused on the stuff above I guess I didn't even register the rest of the kitchen. My mind just registered "dated" and "clutter" and didn't look further. Now that I see the new photo, it's gorgeous! It really is night and day to my eye....See Morekitchen above sink decor
Comments (16)I don’t think it needs anything. I don’t consider blank space above a window as a place to decorate. However, I do like window treatments. If you want to keep the view wide open, hang an outside mount faux Roman shade with a return on a lockseam rod a few inches from the ceiling and only cover the top frame of the window. It will give the illusion of height. Search indigo and luxe on Etsy. They do an excellent job, and have detailed measuring instructions and will send out fabric samples...See Morelazy_gardens
