Thoughts on this rug... too bright?
Comments (52)It is a real struggle to find just the right rug for a room. I really like the one you chose. I kept cream colored walls and a solid sofa to go with our colorful Persian rug, but I used accent colors taken from the rug on the chairs. My rug is 10x13 and I found it on Ebay. I wanted a hand knotted, wool rug and ended up with this one for only $125.00. It pays to keep looking! Sorry about the picture quality. I took the picture at night, which makes the walls appear yellow. Have a great time decorating your new place. Comments (21)Like Kittens, I have an 8lb Oreck and am very happy with it. I've had it since '94. It's needed new brushes and belts from time to time, and I've used it a lot. Pros are that it is light and adjusts from floor to floor- from thick carpet, to tile, to low nap rugs. Cons are that it uses bags, and also that it does not fit into tight areas- like under the toe-kick of cabinets. If I only had hard floors, I would probably not buy an Oreck. I've considered that my next vacuum might very well be a Kenmore or Electrolux cannister with a power brush head. They seem to be expensive, but I've heard some good things about them. For the hard floor areas, I LOVE my old Big Green Clean Machine. I don't know if they still make them, but I LOVE mine for dry and wet vacuuming (as well as wet carpet and upholstery cleaning). When it dies, I might have to settle for a shop vac....See MoreThoughts in area rug ??
Comments (65)Thank you anna_682. That is very pretty, but it looks a touch navy(?) hard to tell online. I actually chose a rug. It was between the medallion and the abstract trellis below. I went with the abstract trellis, as the medallion rug would have ended up off centered from the coffee table/ center of fireplace. I have an akward shaped LR. I know some people dont mind it, but it would have made me cross eyed 😂 the other rug has a more uniform pattern, so I wouldn’t have that issue. The blend of light blues in the rug were also a really nice compliment to my light blue wall color. I think it will work well Fingers crossed. Should arrive this week....See Morehow do you tie in multiple colors in a living room.
Comments (57)Read the whole post again. Everyone is telling you te same thing regarding updates. "You're a young 73?" THEN DON'T DESIGN LIKE 83!!! or 88! Right? Yes, right! I have a client with the exact same unit, right now! ...........it is going directly ( top ) to the bonfire. Get a contractor for the tv issue. A tv today weighs less than a lot of framed pictures. Molly Is the word....and you still have the important part of the unit. You got your 18 years worth. It owes you not a dime....See MoreRelated Professionals
