Wood Tone Paint for New Fiberglass Front Door
Comments (3)Didn't your sales rep recommend the factory finish? Or did you buy it at a box store? Anyway, finishing fiberglass doors is much different than wood because it's not porous. We use a base coat (not primer) followed by two topcoats. I can't share the brand with you because it is a proprietary finsihing product available through authorized finishers only. The product we use requires drying at 100 degrees for 24 hours. Pella should have a finishing instruction sheet with the door. If not, call Therma-Tru or Perma Door. Comments (1)I would stain the flooring, paint can peel and be a bother. For me, I'd stain it dark but that's a personal call. Painting a bright green when the rest of the colors are muted may be too much pop. How about a light green that is in the historical colors so it's muted a bit. Comments (2)All the same color because it's essentially one in the same element. In other words, you can have a door with no side lights but you can't have side lights without a door. That's why it doesn't make sense to paint the side lights a different color from the door....See Morelyfia
