I love, love, love how you have used the rustic with the more modern furniture. Those marble side tables are divine. The corbles are a great addition, makes me want to put some up somewhere!

I like your coffee table, but then I've had a renewed love for metal and glass tables.

I do have a question. Do you hear the beverage fridge when you're in the sitting area? I'm contemplating putting one in some day, in the far future, but I worry that the motor noise would bug me.

looks great! I really like the overall feel of the space! Very calm, but at the same time many interesting things to look at.

Specifically, I espcially like the accent chair and table, your dining table, and the shelf arrangement in the kitchen.

Said it before - I just love your space/layout. And now you're creating an interesting and inviting space with your choices. Really like your style. I'd be the friend walking in and going in circles around the spaces checking everything out close up and trying to carry on a conversation at the same time!

Newhomebuilder, I was leaning towards just above the trim as well. I think I will use VillageWorkroom-a website recommended here. Just need to wait a few months to replete funds.

I don't know about stencilling, but i would definitely do something like paint to minimize the 'black hole" that the TV makes.

I'm not sure about stenciling the TV wall. Are you thinking of a pattern on the entire wall or a border? The white wall does look a bit bare - maybe a softer accent wall color?

Thanks juddgirl! For the moment, I found this old ladder and put it up so that it doesn't look so bare. I think I'm done decorating for a while. Need to take a break a d just enjoy the holidays. I was thinking an all over stencil, but I may just try to do a gallery wall instead.

I like the idea of a gallery wall or maybe even different size white shelving for a "faux built-in" look with display items, books, etc. Toned down though and not too cluttered.

DH thinks I need to take a little break from decorating! The bank account needs to be replenished before I start another project.

My suggestions:
I would continue to brighten up the living room with more splashes of coral and navy, probably in (patterned) throw pillows on the sofa, chair, and settee, and/or glass vases. I do not like the idea of burlap colored drapes so much as something that would continue the touches of coral/navy. You already see enough browns and tans as you enter.

Okay, the holidays are over, back to decorating!

Although crown moulding is not our style, We do agree that other than the fireplace, the room is lacking in architectural detail. We've always loved wood beams, but it just didn't fit the budget when we were building. So we're thinking of adding beams similar to fireplace mantle.Something like this:

I was also think of replacing the media console.I do like it but we need a console for the library so I was thinking of moving it there. Plus I would something a little wider. Here's what I'm considering. I love the walnut and it's wider. Then I would just keep the current coffee table to tie in the stainless steel.
